How Paul Ryan won the VP Debate

It is now obvious beyond serious challenge that Paul Ryan exited the debate against Joe “Giggles” Biden as the clear winner.

What have been the dominant themes of post-debate coverage?

1. Biden’s oafish behavior.

Q: Does this help Barack Obama win re-election?

A: No.

2. Polls show a split decision and general opinion is that it was a draw.

A: No.

3. Liberals claim Biden took Ryan to the woodshed and some of the media claim Biden “won on substance” but made a huge mistake with his behavior.

Q: Does this help Barack Obama win re-election?

A: No.

4. Even liberals such as Eliot Spitzer admit that Ryan is qualified for the job and Ryan came out of the debate seen widely as a respectful young guy with substantial knowledge of the issues.

Q: Does this help Barack Obama win re-election?

A: No.

What topics are NOT being discussed as a result of the VP debate?

1. Bain Capital.

2. 47% or any other Romney “gaffe” real or imagined.

3. Romney’s alleged “lies” in the first debate.

4. Ryan’s Budget plan which supposedly will give independent voters ulcers and palpitations.

Q: Does this help Barack Obama win re-election?

A: No.

Did anything that happened during the debate or in its aftermath serve to change the narrative and help Barack Obama regain the upper hand? No, and that is the only metric that matters in this particular instance.

Joe Biden failed. He failed utterly and further beclowned himself in the process.

Game, set, match, to Paul Ryan.
