Origin of Joe Stack’s “From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed”

Did I ever tell anyone here that my wife and I moved from New York City to Austin because we were tired of this airplanes-flying-into-office-buildings thing?

Austin has had a few incidents recently. The Governor’s Mansion was torched; no arrest was made. Someone recently fired off a gun just outside the Capitol building. A potential Walmart shooting was caught in the nick of time.

The Capitol, the airport, the football stadium when the Texas Longhorns play, and the area malls are all potential terror targets.

If anyone is interested in the origin of the last line of suicide pilot Joe Stack’s note, I’ve researched it for my website:

… observed British essayist Henry Fairlie in the New Republic, might be updated to something like: “From each according to his gullibility.”

This is just free enterprise at its finest:

“From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.” (appologies to the ghost of K. Marx).
