The Emanuel Cleaver $48 billion earmark story broke at least 13 hours ago. There's nothing on The Huffington Post. There's nothing in the New York Times. There was nothing on MSNBC, not even on The Rachel Maddow Show (she cover the stories no one else covers, dontcha know). There's always tomorrow, I guess.
The $48 billion earmark story was linked on The Drudge Report all day, so you'd think someone in even the liberal media would find it.
Can you imagine if Emanuel Cleaver had been a Republican and did this? Don't you think that would be all over HuffPo, the NY Times, and MSNBC in an instant? A check for "Emanuel Cleaver" on Google News shows not a single print news story, anywhere. Associated Press, you still there?
What did Emanuel Cleaver do? Gateway Pundit has it:
BREAKING: Rep. Emanuel Cleaver Earmarks $48 BILLION to Pal Who Runs Child Day Care Center From Home With His Wife
Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, 11:02 PM
Earlier today it was reported that far left Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) proposed a $48 billion earmark to redistribute taxpayer money to the inner city.
It was the Mother of All Earmarks…
Liberal Rep. Emanuel Cleaver proposed a whopping $48 BILLION EARMARK that would redistribute wealth to the inner cities and gift money to the poor and thereby produce a much larger consumer class to buy the goods and services produced in this country.
Rep. Cleaver will lead the Congressional Black Caucus next year. (CBC Blog)
Rush Limbaugh is gonna love this on Thursday's show. The story gets worse (or better, as the case may be):
Now get this…
The $48 billion would go to Cleaver’s friend, a gentleman named Lamar Mickens, president of the not-for-profit Quality Day Campus who runs the organization out of his Kansas City home.
But wait! There's more!
Lamar Mickens is the President and the Treasurer of Quality Day Campus, Inc.
His wife Cynthia is the Vice President of Quality Day Campus, Inc.
Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft is astonished.
This is UNBELIEVABLE!
Rep. Cleaver is asking for $48 billion to donate to his friend’s shady organization that is run out of a Kansas City home?
Cleaver has some explaining to do!
Emanuel Cleaver's actions were beyond outrageous and were clearly newsworthy.
In the rare case that Keith Olbermann mentions this (yeah, like Emanuel Cleaver is ever going to be a Worst Person in the World) or Rachel Maddow mentions this or Lawrence O'Donnell mentions this, it'll come with some spin to attack Republicans, although I don't see how that's possible.
Democrats like Emanuel Cleaver have no shame.
The liberal media covers up the crimes!
