Obama v Obama on Medicare cuts

11 months ago, Candidate Obama criticized Candidate McCain for not having enough specifics in his health care plan. And he claimed McCain would implement “drastic” cuts of hundreds of billions of dollars to Medicare, using figures from a John Podesta group, not from McCain himself.

Now here we are 8 months into President Obama’s tenure. He still lacks the sort of specifics he criticized McCain for not having nearly a year ago, saying he’s leaving that to Congress. And he admits he will cut hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare, but claims that it will have absolutely no impact on care for seniors.

Who am I to believe? Obama or Obama?

And the AARP can’t figure out why its members are up in arms.
