Obama is now saying he is only taxing people who make over $250,000/year and when he asks people at rally's to raise their hands if they make this much (he should be concerned that with his wealth hating followers that he might be inviting muggings) HARDLY ANYONE DOES.
While his message is "don't worry you won't be affected", the opposite side of that coin is that if hardly anyone makes $250,000/year you are not going to get much tax from them to pay for your trillions in spending.
So what happens is that government had to reach to a lower tax bracket.
Now how McCain ties this in to rallies is to repeat the above but then say Obama has plans to raise capital gains taxes, dividends, etc.
You need to convince the people that it will be only the beginning of the tax increases.
