A Call to ACTION is needed to STOP the Law of Sea Treaty

The Senate is again pushing for the ratification of the Law of Sea Treaty, spearheaded by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). We can again give praise to Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) for trying to get enough signatures opposing the treaty on a pending letter addressed to Harry Reid. So far the letter has 24 of the needed 34 signatures required to kill the treaty in the Senate.

In this CNSNews.com article from May 10, 2012, it posts the 24 Senators that have already signed the letter, http://cnsnews.com/news/article/demint-urges-opposition-sea-treaty-citing-redistribution-wealth-and-freedom-navigation. I noted that only one my TX Senators have signed it so will be busy contacting the other to get on board in a hurry.

This treaty is just another scheme to redistribute wealth from the U.S. and other “rich” countries to under-developed countries in the name of fairness and to punish the so-called rich (using the lexicon of the Left, not mine). The worst part is it would take away much of our sovereignty and make the United Nations the pirate of the seas. It would also be a dream treaty for this Admin as probably one of their greatest apology gifts to the world that they could bestow….while bowing.

PLEASE contact your Senators to get this treaty killed once and for all in the Senate. We just need 10 more signatures.

Also of note on CNSNews.com today, it seems former Senator Trent Lott, now a lobbyist, voted against the Treaty and is now for it perhaps for financial gain? See the full article here: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/after-opposing-senate-lott-lobbies-law-sea-treaty-ratification.
