“Rule 1: Never allow a crisis to go to waste,” White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told the New York Times right after the election. “They are opportunities to do big things.”
Those big things scare me. In a time of massive economic hardship, we have a Treasury Secretary telling congress he won't consider a worldwide currency and then embracing that same worldwide currency idea elsewhere. We find ourselves in 2009 as a ship taking on water. Our President is literally speaking out of both sides of his mouth and quietly advancing no less than a socialist revolution before our very eyes. His massive overhaul of American government and society will leave us with a country that our founders would have fled from.
President Obama sees this as a time to push through the largest expansion of government we have ever seen. LBJ and FDR would blush at the massive nature of his proposals. Yet, he sells it to the American people as necessary to get out of the recession. He used the term "invest" or "investing" 18 times in his speech/press conference from the other night. You know, the one where he, wonder of wonders, didn't use a TelePrompter (but rather a large screen television with scrolling text of his speech and stock answers for the pre-selected questions.) If one were to make a drinking game out of the event and took a drink every time the man said some variation of "invest" we would have a bunch of drunken fools scattered across the fruited plains.
Of course to the sycophantic media, it all makes perfect sense. Every word that comes out of the Scripted One's mouth is like pure gold. Whether it is insulting the Special Olympics or saying something else insane, the media laps it up and has prepared explanations for what "he really meant." Do you suppose they have spin rooms ready at all hours to do this massive work? Perhaps Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann never go home now and just sit in a padded room drooling on themselves for hours as staffers bring in quotes of the Scripted One and they rattle off some kind of spin for it?
Take for example Obama's brilliant observation:
He noted that the rising cost of health care is the "greatest threat to America's fiscal health," surpassing Social Security and the significant investments made to rescue the economy.
Does anyone really believe that with the stock market crumbling, the housing market in the toilet, job losses in record numbers, and the bankruptcy and insolvency of major banks and financial institutions, that health care is to blame? Despite having the best health care system in the world, is America really on the brink of economic collapse because we haven't fully turned over the health care industry to the full control of the government bureaucracy? Somehow, this socialist propaganda is treated as further proof of Obama's brilliance by the mainstream media. What is a government-run health care worth to you? To Obama it is worth higher taxes on virtually everything, including limiting the child tax credit and the credit given for property tax payment.
Consider also this nugget of brilliance from the Great Scripted One. President Obama spoke of the need to start:
"moving from an era of borrow-and-spend to one where we save and invest.”
In other news, Jefferson Davis has announced that we need a stronger union, Ronald Reagan has embraced Communism and Bill Clinton has decided that he will live his remaining days in chastity. Outside of Karl Marx, I can't think of someone who would be more ridiculous than Obama to make this statement. Spoken as a true Marxist, Obama equates greater government spending and power with prosperity. "Borrow and spend" is exactly what Obama's plan will be doing. The money is not the government's right. It is the hard-earned possession of the people that Obama plans to steal in order to engage in an orgy of socialism. In his efforts to "spread the wealth around" Obama will be destroying capitalism as we know it.
Thomas Jefferson once said, “When all government, domestic and foreign, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another, and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated.”
Thomas Jefferson and our founders feared an all-powerful federal government. They understood that the people of America should hold the power, and that they should be free to pursue their own happiness and success as individuals in the most liberty-filled nation on earth. Government is not the one who should be "investing" or "spending" our money. It is best left in our own hands. As a disciple of Alinsky, Marx, Wright, and Ayers, this is something that His Excellency, the Lord B. Hussein Obama I does not recognize. Nowhere is that more evident than in his personal life where his brother lives in absolute poverty and disease in Kenya while he refuses to put down the $100 a pound steak long enough to help him out. To socialists like Obama, it is not his responsibility to help his loved ones out, but rather the government's role. He and Joey Biden will be free with spending OUR MONEY, but they don't match this "compassion" in their own personal affairs. How many of us out there would really leave a brother living in poverty? Nobody that I know would. Yet, it's okay that President Obama does. Imagine a parallel universe where Jeb Bush lived in poverty and disease and President Bush ignored him. Do you really think the mainstream media would just ignore that story?
Another bit of Obama brilliance came about in his first campaign 2012 online town hall meeting, where President Obama said the following to a question about whether or not he would attempt to get back the jobs that were shipped overseas:
"So I guess the answer to the question is not all of those jobs are going to come back. And it probably wouldn't be good for our economy for a bunch of these jobs to come back because, frankly, there's no way that people could be getting paid a living wage on some of those jobs--at least in order to be competitive on an international setting."
To the socialist Obama, there is a right kind of spending and a wrong kind. There is also a right kind of job and a wrong kind. To the socialist the image projected is one of compassion and fairness, but the motivation is simply power. What we are witnessing is the largest power grab in the history of our country and perhaps the world. Barack Obama has governed as every bit the extremist that many of us knew him to be during the election. His vision for America is one where capitalism is the enemy and government is the caretaker. He desires the power to control every industry and take larger shares of personal wealth from the people. He desires to silence opposition. He desires to limit individual liberties on a scale never before seen in this country. What we are watching is the slow murder of liberty. The Great Scripted One is using his tremendous reading skills to lull the people of America into a false comfort. Meanwhile, his hands are closing around the neck of liberty, ready to strangle the life out of capitalism and freedom as we know it.
Everything remarkable about America is on the line at this moment in history. We can either allow this radical to dismantle everything America has stood for or stand up to defend the land we love. Thomas Jefferson's personal motto read, "rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God." That is very relevant to today's situation. As Mark Levin has been urging lately, it is time for every man, woman and child who believes in liberty, capitalism, freedom and conservative principles to stand up and become actively engaged. It is time to stop bickering over our own little disagreements and unite against a common foe. Liberty itself is under attack by dishonest manipulative socialists and it must be defended. It's time for conservatives to show "obedience to God" by rebelling against the socialist tyranny of the Great Scripted One.
