Recent accounts attacking Israel for action taken toward “humanitarian activists,” as they like to call them, have been all but factual. Israel has been victimized by anti-Semitic activists sent to “break” the barrier for the passage of weapons (likely originating from Iran) to the Gaza strip. With outside help, these terrorist groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah, have been able to launch attacks on innocent Israeli citizens and IDF troops including over 12,000 small rockets.
One accurate report said it best: “Under international law, Israel has the right to protect the lives of its civilians from Hamas attacks, and, consequently, has undertaken measures to defend itself, including the imposition of a maritime blockade to curb Hamas rearmament. Under international maritime law, when a maritime blockade is in effect, no vessels can enter the blockaded area.”
Israel’s IDF forces did the same thing the United States of America would do in similar circumstances: they fought to ensure the safety of their country and its citizens. They defended themselves when attacked on the flotilla after giving multiple warnings international maritime law requires. These armed activists had ample warning and acted defiantly, trying to ensnare Israel into a trap. Video accounts demonstrate that these terrorists were just that—and can be found at CongressNeedsFunk.com in the news page.
It is our obligation to stand with Israel, our ally, and to defend the only democracy in the Middle East. Quite different from President Obama’s strategy thus far, we must stand with our allies and support the IDF’s actions.
We live in complicated and dangerous times. Countries in the Middle East are choosing sides, and most are explicitly or implicitly falling in line with the radical Islamic terrorism that is increasingly being supported by Iran. Dave Funk is the only candidate in this race that has the experience, temperament and background to help lead during times like these. Defending our nation and our allies is one of the primary roles of the Federal government. Congress needs to deal with these terrorists and tyrannical governments. To support our allies and help defend our country, there is no one better in Iowa’s Third District than Dave Funk.

She’s an uninspiring and boring public speaker, she’s prickly with the public and the press, and she’s trying to win a Democratic primary with a message that’s centered in realism. Additionally, she has a lengthy and very public history | Read More »

South Carolina is going to be a street fight between Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.and Donald Trump. CNN’s Theodore Schleifer, after speaking with nearly a dozen people tied to the Cruz campaign, reports that team Cruz envisions an eventual three-man race between Cruz, Rubio and Trump, but the race isn’t consolidating quickly enough and donors are holing back until there is more “clarity” race:
Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES Most of our attention is on the Republican race moving south, but the Democrats are doing the same thing. Bernie Sanders has competed well with Hillary Clinton in two rural, northern, white states. But as the race moves to South Carolina, at least two of those attributes change, and that leads us to how I expect Hillary Clinton to | Read More »
