I’m tired. I really am tired. And, I am very nearly at my wits end.
I now have a flavor, a tiny inkling, of what it must have been like to be a Jew in the Third Reich. I can now understand (in very small measure) how a poor black woman in the rural south after reconstruction must have felt. I can hear the echos of the landless waifs in the Soviet Gulags. I have no voice. I have no champion. I have no access to truth and justice. I can verily shout at the treetops and no one will hear.
The disgusting, foul, evil miscreants currently infesting the United States Congress are about to leave town waving a single, gigantic middle finger at me –and everybody else that voted them out of office on November 2nd. They have defecated one last stinking pile of tyrannical manure inside the halls of the Capitol, and called it an "Omnibus" funding bill.
"Omnibus" they call it; this is shorthand for "Manure Truck", and it is larded and festooned with every last bit of crap (including a diabolical attempt to begin funding Obamacare on the very day it was declared unconstitutional by a federal judge) that wasn’t included in Pelosi’s first pile of federal road-apples she dumped on my children in the spring of 2009; and this one doesn’t even pretend to be some sort of phantasmagorical "economic stimulus". This is just simply payback time, folks, for having the gall, the unmitigated temerity, to vote these hooligans, these swindlers, out on their ears.
This isn’t how it’s supposed to be in the United States of America, is it? Our elected leaders are supposed to respect the will of the people (or even –gasp–seek it out), not hold it in obvious, nose-holding, abject contempt. After all, it’s not like conservative, liberty-loving, patriotic, constitutionally conservative Americans barely squeaked out a razor-thin majority in the U.S. House: We took a brush-hog to the Democrat majority and whacked them upside the head in a smashing victory of such proportions they haven’t smelled one like it in four-score years. I could understand a little bit of jealous anger and revenge on the part of some of these immature brats, but wholesale lashing out and declared war on the electorate is beyond even their accustomed folly.
We also unceremoniously threw mold-encrusted moderate "elites" out with the rest of the fly-ash. Oh, how they resent it! Look at what the loathsome, nauseating "Senator" from Utah, Blob Bennet has to say about it:
“That’s my intention,” said retiring Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) when asked if he would support the package. Bennett said earmarks in the bill might give some of his GOP colleagues reason to hesitate, but wouldn’t affect his vote. “It will be tough for some, but not for me,” he said.
Of course it won’t be "tough" for him. He’s only in Washington for another fortnight, and then he leaves town forever, saddling my 8 and 10 year old boys with another ONE THOUSAND MILLION MILLIONS in debt. He goes home to his Utah spread, his congressional pension, his gold-plated healthcare, his instant access to all the best clubs and restaurants and resorts, and he sells my kids into serfdom to the Chinese communists. Yep, not tough at all, for a soul-less, foul, creep.
These are the people we’ve been entrusting with our governing institutions. These are the people that are sworn to uphold not only the letter of the law as enumerated in the Constitution, but the spirit and the intention of it, and all the other basic, decent covenants we understand are foundational to representative republicanism. And what do they do? Cup their collective hands to their mouths, and yell in unison "Screw You, Losers! Do something about it! We Dare you!"
Where is our Boris Yeltsin, ready to climb atop a nearby tank and thwart these later-day Soviet Coup Plotters? Where is our Todd Beamer, ready to storm the pilot’s cabin with what ever heavy objects are at hand? This is detestable, outrageous and so thoroughly Anti-American it is beyond my words and my ken. And yet, we have REPUBLICAN SENATORS prepared –nay, relishing the opportunity– to vote for this.
They are: Kit Bond (Mo.), George Voinovich (Ohio) and Susan Collins (Maine). These are the Coup Plotters, ladies and gentlemen. Any takers out there for the role of Boris Yeltsin?
