Things are getting pretty low these days when it comes to political discourse. Just last night Mr. Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC went on and on about all those "liars" in politics. Needless to say, he rounded up all the usual suspects: those who are the enemies of All That Is Good...
because they don't agree with Mr. O'Donnell, that is.
Have you ever seen him when he gets angry? Why, sometimes I think his head is going to explode! I remember one time he had a freshmen Republican House member as a guest on an MSNBC daytime show. O'Donnell asked the congressman if he would have voted for Medicare, had he been in congress then. He said yes. O'Donnell flew into an absolute rage! "You lie ~ you're a liar!" he screamed, over and over again at the top of his lungs, his face quickly turning beat red.
He was um... off TV, for awhile after that.
But now he's back, and so far the Anger Management Training has definitely helped. But on his show last night ~ as he was warming up to his "liars!" theme again ~ he said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor doesn't do anything except hold "press conferences".
Factually, that is Dead Wrong.
Usually, one could excuse such a thing as a mere misstatement. Except that Mr. O'Donnell has been covering the House for Many years ~ and before that even Worked there!
That means it's a Slam Dunk that the great Lawrence O'Donnell, who thinks he knows everything about politics, At Least knows what the majority leader does.
So, I twitted the following to him...
@lawrence Caught your show last night on "Liars". But you lied about the duties of the House Majority Leader Cantor. Why are you a liar?
No answer yet.
Hmmm. I wonder... what will his self-image be, now that he has so clearly, so... blatantly, joined the ranks of the liars? Is this one of those "none so blind as those who do not see" situations.
Or, maybe it's "I'm dumbing down the audience so I don't expect you to notice" sorta stuff.
"People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"?
"Do as I say, not as I do"?
Hey, I know! I bet it's simply...
"it takes one to know one".
Personally, I feel he lies because it intensifies his self-loathing. After all, he's white, male, educated, a citizen of the United States ~ and livin' high on the hog on a HUGE corporate paycheck! Karl Marx was such a great economist, he lived and died broke. Lawrence loves marxist ideology but uh... don't ask him to suffer financially like Marx did.
He cashes his corporate paycheck, just like all of his ideological playmates there.
You know... I bet that's enough right there to make a leftist's head explode!
Don't ya think?
