Mozilla and Obama: Great Topic for College Entrance Exams
This week, Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich resigned, succumbing to tremendous pressure following reports that Eich, back in 2008, had donated $1,000 to a California group advocating the position that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
President Barack Obama, in that same 2008 election, apparently agreed with Eich’s 2008 position, saying: “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.” To my knowledge, President Obama has not resigned this week.
Wouldn’t this topic make for a great “logic” word problem on one of the standardized college entrance exams? Here is my suggested question:
If Eich and Obama had the same position on marriage in 2008, and Eich resigned this week under pressure because of that 2008 position, this week Obama will?
(B) Laugh hysterically that “resignation” is one of the choices
(C) Play golf
(D) Publicly bash the Koch Brothers
(E) Fly off to a fundraiser
(F) All of the above, except for “A”
I know what my guess would be …
