What we must learn from our past

I was as big a fan of Mitt Romney as any other fanboy. I am not a Mormon but I’ve supported Mitt since 2007 for his pragmatism, intelligence, and ability to govern in a hostile environment. Despite my oft proclaimed support for what he’d been doing in this campaign, a lot of what he did made me cringe. But what made me cringe is actually | Read More »

CNN final poll 49-49 D+11 Electorate

Like probably some of you, these days I alternate between hope and despair. I obsessively wait for the polls, and turn away in disgust as the new batches roll in. The amount of new D-affiliated pollsters using their surveys as psychological warfare, along with willing statistical wizards ready to utilize those polls to demoralize our side, has been tremendously sapping of my willpower. PPP’s new Iowa poll illustrates everything that is wrong with their polling

PPP just came out (7:30pm EST) with their new poll of Iowa. Obama leads Romney 49%-48%. “Obama’s up 64/35 with those who’ve already voted in Iowa, Romney up 54/42 with those yet to cast their ballots” At least they are honest about publishing their internals (pdf). This poll’s sample consists of Democrats 41% Republicans 34% Independents 25%. So I decided to compare this poll sample to | Read More »

    Gallup Romney 50% – Obama 46% (LV)

I think this might be the first time Romney reached the 50% mark in any major poll the whole campaign. Yesterday it was 49-47. I am getting that tingle working up my leg. The Left is starting a major freakout.

ABC/WP New National Poll Obama 49-46 (LV) but…

So in their new poll Obama is leading 49-46 (LV) and 50-43 (RV). I immediately glanced at the partisan breakdown and was not disappointed… What a joke. RV – Dem 34%, Rep 25% LV – Dem 35% Rep 26%. If they think this is how election will go, then let them show whatever numbers they want. But this poll is a joke.

“The private sector is doing fine.”

From today’s press conference: “We’ve created 4.3 million jobs over the past 27 months. The private sector is doing fine. Where we’re seeing problems is with state and local government.” What else do you need to know? The unemployment is 8.2%. The GDP is going down. The private sector is doing fine.

Newt Gingrich to drop out next week, endorse Romney

From CNN: Newt Gingrich will officially end his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and formally express his support for Mitt Romney next week, two sources close to Gingrich tell CNN. Not much to say here. It was well overdue but glad to have him along. Newt Gingrich, no matter my dislike for his 2012 campaign, had and will always be my first Conservative hero | Read More »

Rick Santorum trolls the GOP – prefers Obama to Mitt Romney

“True” Conservative Rick Santorum suggested that it might be better for us to stick with President Obama than going with Mitt Romney. I guess Leftist destruction of the country is better than electing a fellow republican. In reaching a new low Santorum said: “You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, | Read More »

Marines asked to disarm before Leon Panetta speech

From NBC: In a highly unusual move, around 200 U.S. Marines were asked to leave their weapons outside the tent where U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta was set to speak during his trip to Afghanistan on Wednesday. Although the military said the order was not given in response to Sunday’s shooting of 16 Afghan civilians allegedly by an American soldier, it possibly underlined how high | Read More »
