Dr. Milton Wolf has made it a point in his campaign to attack incumbent Senator Pat Roberts for not living in Kansas, the state he represents, but instead in Virginia.
But this justified attack is more than a talking point. It could, in fact, lead to Wolf becoming the Republican nominee by default.
As Wolf stated today in his letter to Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the Constitution is clear:
“No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the age of thirty years, and been nine years a citizen of the United States and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state for which he shall be chosen.”
It is a documented fact that Roberts does not live in Kansas. Therefore, he is not eligible to serve.
Secretary Kobach responded by stating that Wolf must file a formal complaint within three business days. The complaint would be reviewed by a panel made up of the Secretary of State, the Lt. Governor, and the Attorney General.
We can only hope any complaint would be reviewed fairly. Good luck to Dr. Wolf on this excellent strategy.
