Surfing the net a short while ago, I came across a link to this just-posted piece on Salon, "John Brennan is a secret Muslim,"
I'd never heard this before, but found it curious that a left leaning website would post this. It's an obvious attempt to discredit former FBI John Guandolo, who made the charge on a radio broadcast this past Thursday? (Note: The above link includes a link to a 10 minute clip of Guandolo leveling the charge against Brennan)
Steve Emerson has written a devastating crtitique of Brennan on FOX News.com yesterday:http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/02/07/john-brennan-is-wrong-man-for-cia/, and this morning, on "FOX&Friends," former CIA counter-intelligence office Michael Scheuer said that Brennan was an "excellent liar." ( Note: I have not been able as yet to find a clip of that segment.)
And then there is this recently uncovered clip from 2010 of Brennan speaking of "the beauty of Islam":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VQbAhqHoAo. He openly recounts his long history of living, and going to school, in the Middle East.
We've been through the rumors that Obama is a Muslim, ( though if Mordecai Brown were still alive, he could count on the fingers of his right hand the number of times that Obama has attended church since the campaign,) then the charge that Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's top aide, has long standing ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Now this. And of course, the left will fall back on its tried and true use of the victimization card; to smear anyone who opposes Brennan as being Islamophobic. Thus the Salon piece could be the first salvo in a campaign to save the Brennan nomination.
Does this go anywhere? Will anyone ask?
