There are not enough “pinocchios” in the entire universe to do justice to Obama’s comments today. Goebbels and Hitler would be proud.
I watched Obama’s comments today about the government shutdown, and it is absolutely staggering, the sheer depth of the lying, the arrogance that oozes through the screen.
There are not enough pinocchios in the entire universe to begin to dissect his remarks. I will l leave that to others.
But one comment especially jumped out, and it is valuable to analyze, and understand, for it gives us an insight into the abyss that contains Obama’s vision for the nation:
“..After all, our deficits are falling at the fastest pace in 50 years. We’ve cut them in half since I took office…”
The mind boggles. One really has no idea where to start, other than by banging one’s head against the wall.
This is Joseph Goebbel’s “the BIG lie” technique updated for the Twittersphere.
For those of you not fully conversant with the art of propaganda, Hiltler, in “Mein Kampf ” (1925) coined the term “the Big Lie,” to describe a “lie so colossal” that nobody could possibly believe that “someone would have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.”
Obama of course neglected to mention that since he took office, the national debt has exploded by more than $6 TRILLION, and it still isn’t enough, as he is demanding more, MORE, MORE.
This is the alternate universe, the new “governmental” deficit math.
Yup, our president is nothing but “impudent.”
In 1941, Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda chief, somewhat modified Hitler’s dictum :
“..The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking stupid…”
Obviously, Harry Reid and Chuckie Schumer have read the book….
One would think, one would hope, one would like to believe that 5 seconds after the speech, every commentator would be standing up, and screaming…NO! NO!, IT’S NOT TRUE!….that tomorrow, every newspaper editorial would be denouncing such a collection of manifestly false statements, and the person who spoke them.
In many ways, Obama’s speech today was the scariest he has ever given. The only thing scarier is how he is allowed to get away with it.
One last thought…..a few paragraphs above I mentioned “new math.” For those of you who may have forgotten, or have never had the good fortune to hear, enjoy the great Tom Lehrer performing “New Math.”
Even when it seems darkest outside, we must still never lose the ability to smile….
