Why does it take 12 State Dep’t staffers working full time 13 months to review 55,000 emails, when Hillary had a few aides review 125,000 emails in a few weeks?
Someone really needs to remind Hillary: When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
Except she can’t.
The hits just keep on coming.
Yesterday, the NY Times revealed emails from a second, secret email account, except that her lawyer said it wasn’t used while she was SecState.
Except it was.
Now, the State Dept has asked a federal judge, who is handling several lawsuits related to State’s failure to comply with FOIA requests, to allow it 13 months ( until Jan 15, 2016) to review the 55,000 emails that Hillary had turned over to State.
A few months ago, when Hillary announced her “secret server” she said that oh-by-the-way, her staff had reviewed somewhere between 60-125,000 emails, and deleted 30,000 of them.
There are only two possible alternatives here:
1. State Dept staffers assigned to review Hillary’s emails are all minority outreach employees, who attend ESL classes at night after diligently pouring through her emails.
2. Hillary Clinton is lying through her teeth.
Note: Regarding the headline, there is still some confusion about the actual number of emails that Hillary turned over. She said that she had deleted about 30,000 emails, but her staff had PRINTED OUT and turned over to State, 55,000 PAGES. The AP, in its original reporting in March, said that
“Clinton has provided the State Department with 55,000 printed pages of emails from her private account. Those amounted to about half the emails stored on the personal server that she used, she said.”
If we reasonably assume that each email was printed separately, and that at least some ran more than one page, then here are a lot more emails floating around than first reported.
One last point.
Back in March, when the deleted emails story first broke, many conservatives (among them NR’s Andy McCarthy), were very critical of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) 81%, because he knew about the secret email system for six months, yet did nothing.
I wrote then on RS that despite criticism, Gowdy’s doing everything right.
That’s because Gowdy realized early on that in order for this investigation to be successful, unlike previous GOP efforts on Fast and Furious, the IRS, etc..the MSM had to get behind it, and start digging.
Gowdy’s right. Look where these stories are appearing: The NY Times, and The WaPo.
