I thought someone else here would beat me to it, but apparently not.
Anyways, we all knew it was a matter of time before something like this happened. It seems like you can blame just about anything on the magical theory (read: religion) of global warming and twist and contort it to say just about anything about it, its effects, and who all it hurts the most.
And you can now add black people to the list of things harmed by global warming, or at least according to Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC).
Jump with me below the fold to see what the esteemed member of Congress, and I use "esteemed" in the most generous possible of terms, has to say...From the Business and Media Institute, we have this:
Climate change is no longer just an environmental issue. It’s now an issue of race, according to global warming activists and policy makers.
*“It is critical our community be an integral and active part of the debate because African-Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change economically, socially and through our health and well-being,” *House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., said July 29.
I'd post more of the article, but I'm not a sadistic kind of person. You can read it through the link above, if you like, but I don't understand why anyone would want to subject their eyes to such pain. It's bascially the same old global warming clap-trap with a dash of race added this time. Shocking that someone could come up with this, isn't it?
Is anyone else here besides myself think this is just an excuse to add "racist" to the list of things one can call us global warming skeptics?
Where we were once "blind, close-minded, unenlightened, irrational, reactionaries who are no different than Holocaust deniers," we are now "blind, close-minded, unenlightened, irrational, racist, reactionaries who are no different than Holocaust deniers."
And that's the point, isn't it?
It's a big difference.
So, anyone wanna bet what they'll say about Global Warming next?
