Since the end of WWII, those on the left have recognized the evils of war and guns, and have continuously and methodically stripped American citizens of their Constitutional Rights by falsely basing their speeches on ending crime, when they really want to disarm this entire country. Some states have seen recent changes to existing laws, some states have seen their laws completely gutted and replaced with illegal laws restricting our Constitutional Rights such as requiring a permit of some kind to carry a firearm, despite the US Constitution containing no such allowance. Through the end of WWII, in most of the 50 states, they all relied on the US Constitution which meant little to no laws regarding guns, since the 2nd Amendment stated very clearly "The right to own and carry guns shall not be infringed". Yet starting in the 50s and 60s, we saw these elitist apathetic liberals strip citizens of their rights, under the guise of "for the people" by helping states pass safe "gun control" laws, which were essentially laws stripping people of their 2nd amendment rights, since the only time they were allowed to even touch a gun was within their own home or when they were hunting. For a few decades, this was accepted.
By the start of the 1960s, Congress even recognized the Communist Goals, outlined from a popular book at the time, "The Naked Communist" by Cleon Skousen:
Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35
January 10, 1963
Current Communist Goals
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963
These goals were mentioned on public record by liberal Democrat Albert S. Herlong, Jr. as a means to claim the goals are altruistic and for the good of the people, instead of their real intention of subduing the populace into a corporatist police state, bound for Communism. Number 3. on the list even stated specifically: "Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength." to which liberals have followed along and disarmed the people for decades, until they started waking up and electing conservatives in the 1980s.
From the 1950s until the early 80s, Democrats held on to the majority more often than not in state and federal congressional positions. This lead many states to have laws that essentially made it illegal to carry a gun concealed, and by 1986 15 had laws that would not even allow anyone to apply for concealed carry permits, meaning the law regarding firearms was limited to either open carry or restricted to home defense and hunting. By 1986, the aging children of WWII veterans started gaining predominant positions within state and federal lawmaker positions and started the massive swings, but not always in the same direction. Through the late 80s until the early 2000s, most states moved from a No Issue stance (which in most cases was found to be unconstitutional), and had changed their laws to Shall or May issue. In the 10-15 years since, as of the 2013 stats, most states have moved to Shall Issue status on concealed carry permits, provided the background check is clean. Only a few states had not changed their stance, and in most cases have completely gone the opposite direction. California and New York have both gone from a "May issue" stance in the 1980s where almost anyone without a criminal record was approved, to today their claim of "may issue" that borders on "No issue". The only state to not change their laws (despite excessive liberal pressure) has been Vermont, who still maintains the founding fathers views of "no license needed". Since 2010, several other states such as Arizona, Alaska, Wyoming and Arkansas have done a 180 from their previous laws 2 decade before, to no longer require any permit, with more states debating this route as well.
What we find is every time there is conservatives with the majority powers, gun laws are slowly reverted back to how they should be (both from a moral and common sense standpoint) as outlined in the US Constitution, meaning that laws requiring permits to "keep and bear arms" or restricting the ammo or hardware of firearms is illegal according to the highest law in this country. When the left has the majority powers, they continue to steal and cheat their way through the system by circumventing the laws and Constitution, and pass new restrictions. We have already seen this many times with the current US Senate, where they add/remove/change items within legislation or a bill, but instead of the required action of sending it back to the House for approval, they ignore those laws and illegally send it to King Obama to sign. At the state level, we see more and more judges legislating from the bench by overturning the vote of the majority for one of their personal views, such as the majority voted to approve "marriage defined as one man and one woman" in many states such as FL, CA, IL, WI and others, yet these single activist judges illegally overturn the vote of the people. The same is starting to happen with gun related laws, where the majority is voting or supporting legislators that are reverting the laws back to the original intent of the 2nd Amendment (no restrictions), and judges are now starting to determine those are unconstitutional (as in laws set to match the Constitution is illegal).
Some states are following suit of these activist judges by passing more illegal restrictions, such as New York and California requiring "smart chips" or magazine round limits. Combined with their so called (laughable) may issue permits, they are slowly and illegally stripping people of their 2nd Amendment rights, as is their goal. These modern day liberals can care less of what some ancient outdated parchment signed by elitist rich fat cats 238 years ago says. They rely on their feelings and emotions based on their lack of education on many subjects to try to sway others opinions. Luckily people of this nation are waking up from their media induced slumber and are no longer trusting the powers that be, realizing they are only out for self serving interests and their wallet, not the American People.
We need to step up now and revert this Republic, sending laws back 100 years if we are going to keep this Republic, and not this Corporatist Oligarchy.
