Guns, Ammo and Small Blond Women
“A feminist is a woman who doesn’t have to depend on a man for her protection.”
I don’t know who said those words, but I live by them. Now that our illustrious Attorney General has the 2nd Amendment squarely in his sights (pun is intended), I believe a discourse on the above subject is apropo.
I was about to enter the range about six months ago when a big fella who was walking out asked me if I was there to shoot. When I replied that I was, he told me I was too small, a woman, and the best part was he said I was blond. Well, I have to tell you if I tried to print my remark to him on this blog, Erick would hit the “delete” button faster than Gibbs can tell a lie.
But I own a couple of weapons for a variety of reasons. For protection, because I found out I really love the smell of gun powder, and because the US Constitution says that I can. But my thought lately is, we might as well send that Jeffersonian masterpiece of writing to Iran, China or Russia because frankly, the folks in DC just aren’t using it anymore. They have wadded it up, and thrown it in the trash like a piece of garbage. They ignored us when we said “no!” to the bailouts. They ignored us when we said “no!” to the Omnipork Bill. And they ignored us when we said “no!” to the Obama-Pelosi Theft Act of 2009. And if that’s not enough, our 2nd Amendment rights are in the firing line of the cabal in DC.
H.R. 45, The Blair-Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 could be our most fearsome threat.
This bill hasn’t moved since January of this year, but just like Lazarus, it could arise from the dead at any time. Now the Obamameister has revived talks of U.N. gun control, and fears abound if he signs on to this treaty, it will be the first step to total annihilation of our 2nd Amendment rights.
So is it any wonder that people are hoarding ammo, and O has won another “award’?
Firearm Salesman of the Year
“Amendment II: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
That’s pretty clear, wouldn’t you say? This sentence, above, says you and I can own a gun if we want. The Founding Fathers, probably the wisest men this earth will ever know, put that one sentence there, to protect us from an oppressive government. Are we now going to let an oppressive government put the Bills of Rights in the trash too?? I don’t think so.
So a message, from this small, blond woman; to all the libs and socialist-wannabees:
Remember this: When you hear an intruder, in your home, in the middle of the night; a police cruiser travels tops at 80mph. A bullet travels upwards of 800mph. Which one do you want to be your first line of defense? After all, waiting for the cops could take the rest of your life. Literally.
And I almost forgot. Hey DC! Take that Constitution out of the trash can!
