Some Coal for Their Stockings

It has been a particularly potent strategy when dissidents have used object lessons to deliver their point.  The dumping of tea into the Boston Harbor, sitting at lunch counters where they weren’t welcome, and candle light vigils for fallen heroes have demonstrated the power of symbols over simple, verbal speech.  We have yet to begin really mounting symbolic demonstrative speech and we are consistantly ignored.  It is time to try a different tack when attacking this assault on liberty and vicious corruption of the political process.

The Democrats have been running around and cheering about this ‘Christmas Present’ of a healthcare takeover for the past few weeks.  Since they have been ignoring our voices, actively perverting the political process for votes, and generally acting more like thugs than public servants, it is time for us to give them a little nudge.  We need to give them a little Santa Citizen.

I am, following the Senate vote, sending my two senators, Klobuchar and Franken, each a lump of charcoal.  I will include a note that tells them Santa Citizen has found their actions voting for a bill we don’t want, using our money to buy votes, and handing over enormous powers to the executive to be ‘naughty’.  Any who want to participate can do the same and show these Senators just how we feel.

We can mail the ‘coal’ or drop it off at their offices.  I’m going to send to my senators but also to Reid, Ben Nelson, Landrieu, Dorgan, and Baucus.   They are complicate in this disaster and deserve the little ‘treat.’

I hope some of you will join me in letting these people know how we feel.  If they are given some coal it will cause them to think.  If they begin to get inundated, they may feel a bit more pressure.  At least one of these media ‘ho’s will contact someone in the press to whine about the action.  I’m hoping this could be a demonstrative act that could shame them, at least a little bit.  Besides, I’m feeling a bit powerless and this is something I feel can make a difference, in the long run.

Merry Christmas
