I had to laugh when I saw Obama’s criticism of outside groups raising money for candidates. What are these outside groups? Some of them may be <gasp> foreign corporations. (I can’t help but appreciate the xenophobia such a remark engenders in collectivists who otherwise want to adopt European social democracy, foreign judicial decisions, and open borders but are scandalized by a foreign <gasp> corporation giving money.) Meanwhile, the Fundraiser-in-Chief cannot attend enough fundraisers to raise funds from who knows who for his corrupt Party. Nina Tautenberg of NPR is appalled because these funds are coming from unnamed sources but going to Republicans while the Democratic cash is coming from sources they know but refuse to investigate. Here is a representative string of the president’s behavior and laughable remarks.
NEWARK — President Barack Obama returned to Washington, D.C., from Bergen County this evening, having fulfilled one of his most critical missions this fall: raising oodles of cash for the Democratic Party.
Obama arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport at the close of the business day, but his swift swing through Cresskill, a Republican stronghold, helped net the Democratic National Committee as much as $1.5 million by the time Air Force One flew off the tarmac at 8:11 p.m.
Obama joined 50 people at a $30,400-a-plate dinner at the home of a prolific Democratic fundraiser, Michael Kempner, CEO of a large East Rutherford public relations and lobbying firm.
“Just this week, we learned that one of the largest groups paying for these ads regularly takes in money from foreign corporations,” Mr. Obama told a largely African-American crowd of as much as 4,500 at Bowie State University, in the Democratic stronghold of Prince Georges County, Md.
“So groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections, and they won’t tell you where the money for their ads come from,” he said. Wall Street Journal
President Barack Obama flew in and out of Chicago on Friday. The short, 3-hour visit was for the purpose of appearing at a pair of fundraisers for struggling Democratic candidate Alexi Giannoulias.
The first event was yet another fundraiser for Giannoulias who is running neck-and-neck with Mark Kirk for the US Senate seat Obama previously held to represent Illinoisans. This one was held up the Magnificent Mile at the Drake Hotel. Attendees needed to pay from $500 to $2,400 per person.
After that, Obama made an appearance at the home of a well-to-do near-northsider where another pricy fundraising event was being held.” Chicago Tribune
Who are all these people attending these fundraisers? Who are these fundraisers and what do they want? The press and president are hellbent to try and figure out the sources of Republican cash but couldn’t care less who these rich Democrats are and what they want for their money. Where are the stories about Michael Kempner and his lobbyist connections? Who are these fat cats Obama is soliciting cash from? What connections do they have to pending regulation or legislation? Where are the stories on that? What difference does it make who gave the money if no one looks into it anyway?
I’ll tell you why. Because they aren’t worried about where Democratic cash comes from, they are only worried about their enemies on the right.
Pull down your dress, your hypocrisy’s showing.
