Rand Paul Goes Ham On Bill Being Voted On Without Lawmakers Reading It
Once again, Rand Paul shows why it is he was elected in the first place.Read More »
Drudge has a slew of reports about the situation in Chicago. The hysteria in the media is almost as bad as the perfect storm of (bad) information during the Hurricane Katrina debacle. Rush pointed out just moments ago - rightfully so - that the democrats are the law in this town and these are the very people who are record as saying that they would not allow a good crisis to go to waste.
That is if it is a crisis.
I remember my school days at Blaine Grade School (Lakewood HS dist) in Chicago back in the late 60's and how blazing hot it would be in early fall even on a third floor classroom with all of the huge windows open. I'm sure that they've added AC to some of the classrooms since then but if not, the teachers are taking a break from the heat as well without having to use comp time or vacation days.
Drudge's upper left hand list of links are as follows and they deserve more than a passing glance (many will look no further than these to say they're informed). As to be expected from Matt, there are links to the major actors in this little psychodrama - Obama, Emanuel, and Romney. I can only wonder (and with this administration's track record of 'transparency' I have to wonder) what is really going on that there needs to be such a huge distraction provided for by the media.
So until that story breaks - if it doesn't get buried like the recent jobs report - I would like to dwell on how these (supposed) masters of the media are being seen by the public. First up are the teacher's and the story of the union's rejection of the new contract terms.
I will say that the only times in my working career I received even close to that percentage is when I made lateral changes - never for the same job at the same firm.
Way to go Chicago! Setting the standard for union workers worldwide.
This should come as no surprise given the the Chicago unions have a death grip on the city.
same as above...
Now we see some real news and this deserves scrutiny - just please, not at the kid's expense. The children in this case are being held hostage as well as their parents who I'm sure had to scramble to find sitters and daycare at the last minute. Readers should note that many school systems are now required to provide free meals - and many times free breakfast to ALL students at schools in the district even if their parents are above the threshold of eligibility. Another way that the entitlement mentality has it's tentacles in all facets of society even those that will not be seen by those without school age children in their households.
Rush asked a pointed question that had also occurred to me when I saw this headline; so what happens during the summer? These are the same kids who live in Chicago, right? Sorry... this is pure spin (BS). The fact that this links to the NBC affiliate in Chicago (aka the DNC Chicago branch)proves that point without even visiting the site (which is a Good Thing)
Guess that Cops wanted to get out of the station houses and put in a little OT on a beautiful fall afternoon. Do they 'pour onto the streets' in July as well??
I'm sure that some cold political calculus is going on behind the scene and that the strike will end, but only if and when the political end game has either been achieved or determined to be of no further use in the re-election strategy. But again, the schoolchildren are being held hostage - just not only by the teacher's union. The media tries to be funny with the 'Godfather' moniker but that just proves the point in a succinct way.
This should be no surprise, just additional proof that to see what the opposition is really thinking, watch what they do and ignore 100% of what they say. Can you repeat the oft stated response from Democratic operatives in the department of (re)education... just say "No school vouchers" (for underprivileged families"...)
Good! He should hit Mr. Obama hard and often with all of the above and stay relentless in the differences between the platforms and the resulting outcomes. This incumbent has shown that he has little concern nor really wants to care. His consistent and aloof response to everything from a dead border patrol agent to the obvious injustice that his own Justice Department has shown. Hit them hard and often. Mr. Romney, now is the time to take off the kid gloves and fight to win.
As a longtime resident of Illinois (down-stater now where there are vast pockets of red between Chicago and St. Louis Metro) I can only add ... no comment because that was the usual vote cast when Mr. Obama represented the citizens in the statehouse and then in Congress. But I use the term "represent" with the meaning of "does not care one whit so long as the ultimate goal of radically transforming this nation is accomplished".
