Inhofe: A Good Place to Start

According to Pajamas Media today, Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) has asked for the current administration to investigate the global warming hoax and recall Al Gore to explain himself to Congress.  Way to go senator.  It is about time someone took up this mantle and tackled this behemoth head-on, on behalf of the American people.  It looks like Inhofe has become our Huckleberry.

The Senator has asked for the following:

  • A DOJ  investigation into research misconduct or criminal actions by the scientists involved, including Dr. Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University and Dr. James Hansen of Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Science.
  • requesting the Environmental Protection Agency to reopen its consideration of an Endangerment Finding for carbon dioxide as a pollutant under the Federal Clean Air Act, and will ask Congress to withdraw funding for further consideration of carbon dioxide as a pollutant,
  • joining with firms such as the Peabody Energy Company and several state Attorneys General (such as Texas and Virginia) in objecting to the Obama administration’s attempt to extend regulatory control over carbon dioxide emissions in the United States. Senator Inhofe believes this staff report “strengthens the case” for the Texas and Virginia Attorneys General.

As pointed out by PJM, “if proven, these charges could subject the scientists involved to debarment from federally funded research, and even to criminal penalties.”    Wow.  Many bloggers and conservative pundits have been on top of this from day one debunking the hoax, thank God we now have Senator Inhofe who is ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee taking it to the next level.  If found to have mislead the public and leaders, who were all too willing to use the subterfuge for their own selfish agenda, each and every person that contributed to the hoax should be trotted out for the American people.  Every despicable manipulation of date and misuse and misconduct should be shown on CSPAN with live coverage and each perpetrator punished to the fullest extent of the law….and that includes Gormagon himself, Al Gore. All proceed from his movie and any related proceeds should be stripped and put against the national debt.

Now the the real question, what will the Obama administration and Eric Holder do with the request since their whole house of cards under the Cap’n Tax debacle rests on the shoddy research provided by the research that has classified C02 as a pollutant?

I expect they will drag their heels and try to pass it anyway, as they have done with healthcare.  Caring not what the American people want nor what research does NOT show, they will double down on stupid again, and will pay the price in 2010 and 2012.  I think it doesn’t matter much to them if 2010 is a blood bath for Democrats who support the Cap’n Tax and RINO’s that vote with them.   They will walk the plank for an out of touch administration that will chase it’s own ideology, the people be damned.

We need our conservative bretheren in office and those running for seats to be up front and vocal about this as this issue will kill the private sector, kill business, kill jobs and hobble America, even more than the Obama administration had hoped for.  Make no mistake, this administration is not about job creation nor is it business friendly nor about building up the private sector.  It wants to punish greedy capitalist, it wants to build up the public sector which creates no wealth and it wants to redistribute what is left from the private sector.  Small businesses will die on the vine and middle sized ones will be regulated out of business.  Large businesses will be nationalized like GOMO, government motors and AIG, All In the name of Government.   It is called socialism   It is not the American way.   Atlas Shrugged, now in the non fiction aisle.   It will take real men and women who will take a real stand to put an end to it.

This is as good a place as any to start.  Thank you, Senator Inhofe.
