The U.S.A. is Still a Christian Nation
It was no coincidence that our great republic became one of the world’s elite nations in less than a century. With the blessings of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, our fledgling country surpassed kingdoms which had been in existence for over a millenium. God supremely blessed America, because it was founded on His principles.
The majority of America’s earliest settlers were Christians. They were the pilgrims and puritans who came to this land for religious freedom and to escape religious persecution. They provided the Christian foundation that our founding fathers built upon.
Our founders were Christian. That fact cannot be changed no matter how hard the secular revisionist historians try to do it. The Father of Our Country, George Washington, wrote in a letter to the Delaware Indian Chiefs: “You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ.” The writer of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, once stated, “No nation has ever existed or been governed without religion. The Christian religion is the best religion that has been given man.” In a letter to Thomas Jefferson, our second president, John Adams wrote: “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity.” In Samuel Adams’ will the following was recorded: “I rely upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins.” There are numerous other similar quotes and writings from our founding fathers.
It doesn’t matter what our current president says on the subject. America has always been and is still today a Christian nation. However, in many ways we have turned our backs on God, thus we do not always receive the rich blessings that we once enjoyed. But it is our own fault, not God’s. We have turned away ; He has not.
As a Christian nation, it is imperative for us to realize and acknowledge that the Jewish people and the nation of Israel are God’s chosen ones. It has been that way since ancient times. It all began with Father Abraham. Only God can explain why he chose that race of people as his beloved, but the fact remains that he did. However, through faith in His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, he provided a way for us gentiles to be adopted into God’s chosen people. It is a free gift which he provides to everyone.
In order to stay in God’s good graces, and because it is the right thing to do, the United States must stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel against all of its enemies. We cannot afford to waiver or waffle in any way. President Obama and his administration are taking a dangerous stance in world affairs, especially in the Middle East. His muslim upbringing seems to be overriding his supposed Christian conversion. All of our leaders must realize that the future of our great nation is directly tied to our alliance with Israel.
