Is a vote for Ron Paul a vote for Code Pink?
On Monday, the left wing anti-war group Code Pink praised Ron Paul’s foreign policy while condemning Obama’s apparent lack of diplomacy toward Iran in a press conference on Monday, according to the Daily Caller.
“I think Ron Paul has a remarkable position when it comes to U.S. foreign policy, and his call for no war on Iran that something that many of us support,” Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin told reporters at the National Press Club.
“His call for an end of the U.S. empire — that we should be a democracy that lives within our own borders — is something that resonates with a lot of people. A call for an end to what he calls the ‘warfare state’ is something that resonates with many people in the peace community,” she added. …
Benjamin decried what she called the “corporate media” which she says is giving Paul “short shrift” in the debates.
Code Pink has been fond of Paul’s foreign policy positions for quite some time.
“The Ron Paul people are closer and closer to our talking points with each election,” Code Pink activist Liz Hourican told Fox News last May. …
Conservative talk show host Mark Levin called Paul’s foreign policy “unpatriotic” and “un-American,” while Rush Limbaugh blasted his position as akin to “blaming America” for the 9/11 terror attacks.
Paul has repeatedly called for friendship with Iran – a regime that has stated its desire to see Israel wiped off the face of the earth.
Last December, Paul blamed the United States for Iran’s actions and praised Obama for “wisely backing off on sanctions” and pursuing diplomacy. …
