OK, Obama’s answered the first two questions about his Illegal Auntie.

Time for the third.

(See our earlier post for background]: anyway, Obama’s going with the I-had-no-idea answer:

Obama says he didn’t know aunt’s illegal status NEDRA PICKLER

CHICAGO (AP) – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Saturday he didn’t know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

The Associated Press found that Obama’s aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama’s late father.

A statement given to the AP by Obama’s campaign said, “Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed.”

That answers the first two questions: however, the third one still remains. Senator Obama, how could you have failed to discover this situation while you were preparing for running for President? This is a serious question: the USSS vetting and background checks alone should have resulted in the circumstances of your aunt coming to your attention. And we know that someone in your campaign is in contact with Ms. Onyango, given that she’s not supposed to talk to reporters until after the election:

“I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”

So, please, Senator: tell us how both your campaign and an independent vetting service both managed to fail in their background checks. This sounds like it’d be quite a story.
