They don’t mean The Amazing Race

I turned the page on my office calendar this morning and saw a holiday notation I wasn’t familiar with. Something called “Day of the Race’ being celebrated in Mexico.

Naively, I assumed it had to do with some sort of speed-based competition and went to look it up.  It turns out, not so much.

Don’t misunderstand me, I’m sure it’s a completely benign celebration and, linked as it is to Columbus Day, may actually be more favorable to the trailblazers of five centuries past than many are north of the Rio Grande.

But still… can you even imagine the reaction to even the merest suggestion of a holiday for the white race?  Just saying.
