MEMBER DIARY

He may not have been as important as an abortion doctor but a Border Patrol Agent was killed yesterday.

I guess that the media only pays attention to policemen when they are hassling big important black studies professors from Cambridge who are calling out their mama.

Where is the outrage?
Does anyone care?

From the L.A. Times.

Reporting from San Diego — A U.S. Border Patrol agent was fatally shot while pursuing a group of people in a remote valley about 60 miles east of San Diego, triggering a manhunt by federal, state and Mexican authorities, Homeland Security officials said Friday.

Robert Rosas, a three-year agency veteran, was responding to an incursion Thursday night just inside the steel border fence when one or more assailants opened fire, authorities said. He died at the scene.

Hmmmm….maybe those two agents who did two and a half years in prison for shooting at a suspect were right. Some smugglers do have guns.
It’s a shame one has to die before we realize that.
It’s a damn war zone down on the border and it is the most under reported story of the year.

Robert Rosas, a three-year agency veteran, was responding to an incursion Thursday night just inside the steel border fence when one or more assailants opened fire, authorities said. He died at the scene.

Rosas, a 30-year-old father of two, was the first border agent to be shot and killed in the line of duty in nearly a decade, officials said. “It was a cowardly act against an agent trying to protect this country,” said Rick Barlow, acting chief of the agency’s San Diego sector, where flags flew at half-staff outside of headquarters in Chula Vista.

When will the President issue a statement?

I just checked around on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC and no one is reporting on this.
Fox News had it but it is not a headline.
Nothing on Drudge.
Maybe if he was performing an abortion when he got shot someone might have noticed.

The Dept. of Homeland security issued a statement.

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our own,” U.S. Department of Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano said in a statement. “Agent Robert Rosas was gunned down while protecting our nation’s Southwest border.

“This act of violence will not stand — nor will any act of violence against the Border Patrol.”

She said the department’s full resources would be used in the investigation.

No word on whether the shooter was a right-winger or a returning vet.

My condolences to Mr.Rosas’s family.
God Bless his soul.
