Michael Moore’s Mystery Millions

OK, folks, if you want to hear the phony essence of socialism it is right here. Below is an excerpt from an interview with far-left filmmaker/propagandist Michael Moore talking with CNN talk-show host Piers Morgan about Moore being wealthy and in the top 1% of income earners in America. This 1% is being protested by the Wall Street occupiers who are fully supported by Moore:

Morgan: I need you to admit the bleeding obvious. I need you to sit here and say, I’m in the 1 percent, because it’s important.

Moore: Well, I can’t. Because I’m not.

Morgan: Because the validity of your argument — you are, though.

Moore: No, I’m not. I’m not.

Morgan: You’re not in the 1 percent?

Moore: Of course I’m not. How can I be in the 1 percent?

Morgan: Because you’re worth millions.

Moore: No, that’s not true. Listen, I do really well. I do well. But what’s the point, though? Isn’t that –

Morgan: I do, because I find it more interesting if you’re in the 1 percent because I think you probably are.

Moore: Yes. Yes.

Morgan: You qualify.

Moore: Right.

Morgan: That you are railing against a lot of capitalist ideals.

Moore: Well, then if you believe that about me, then that’s really something, isn’t it?

Morgan: No, I’m asking if you accept that.

OK, so there it is. Typical liberal subterfuge. Because Moore may not technically be in the top 1%, but he is very wealthy.

Look… when Morgan says, “Because you’re worth millions…” Moore replies, “That’s not true.”

This is a lie. Of course Moore is worth at least “millions”. His net worth is alleged to be $50 million according to celebritynetworth.com. His last three movies have sold more than $300 million in tickets. And Moore’s million-dollar Michigan vacation mansion recently was exposed on the internet.

And then Moore rails against “the rich”. It is total deception. Moore lies every time he opens his mouth. Because he is a leftist and all leftists lie every day. He cannot even bring himself to admit the truth about himself because he is so ideologically biased. He even called a reporter “punk media” for asking him about the published $50 million figure. Said Moore: “You’re just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.”

So after he lied on the CNN show, he accuses others of lying. Amazing. But typical socialism.

But look at this final part of his statement if you want to know socialism in a nutshell. Moore said:

“That even — that even though — that even though I do well, that I don’t associate myself with those who do well, I am devoting my life to those who have less and who have been (hurt) by the system. And that’s how I spend my time, my energy, my money on trying to up-end this system that I think is a system of violence, it’s a system that’s unfair to the average working person of this country.”

So there you have it. Because Moore is in essence saying: “I am very rich but that is OK because I am a socialist.”

Moore’s simple two-line statement indeed sums up socialism. Because these ultra-rich leftists like Moore are in love with money, have tons of money, are obsessed with money, are statistically the least generous Americans with their personal wealth, but then compensate for it all by supporting liberal causes and wealth redistribution.

Yet socialism statistically has had the historical effect of making all of society poor.

So Moore’s ideology is actually creating more poverty than it is alleviating (see California example below). At the same time, Moore gets richer and richer. And he does not want the Tea Parties or anyone else having the power or the freedom or the resources to point out that he and his cronies indeed are rich people and hypocrites to boot.

Here is just one example of how Moore’s potemkin ideology works:

Moore is a huge pro-union liberal – you know, “on the side of the working man” as the old saying goes. And California is a classic case of a state with total Democrat control of all phases of state government and strong union control of the public workforce.

And California – of course – has the worst budget crisis of any state. Wealth-creating companies are leaving California in droves along with many thousands of skilled and educated people departing every year. Why? Bloomberg.com recently reported about Moore’s utopian California:

Jean Keller earned $269,810 last year working as a nurse at a men’s prison on California’s central coast by tripling her regular pay with overtime hours.

Keller got more overtime in 2010 than any other state employee. In all, California’s public workers collected $1.7 billion of extra pay last year, more than half of it in overtime, state payroll data show. The rest was for unused vacation and union-negotiated benefits such as clothing allowances, physical-fitness incentives and special compensation in recognition of a “complex work load.”

“It’s outrageous,” said 29-year-old Gilbert Ramirez, one of about 30,000 teachers fired in California since 2007 because of budget cuts. “It boils my blood that I’m out of work and they claim they don’t have enough money to pay me.”

California paid the additional wages — enough to fund the average salaries of about 25,000 teachers  — as it faced a $19 billion deficit and cut school spending and services for poor children and the elderly. The state may have to trim the academic year by seven days and eliminate some student busing if revenue shortfalls persist.

So there you go. Socialism always favors a small elite like public-employee labor unions and wealthy leftists like Moore while abandoning the overall common good as California is demonstrating today.

Said Bloomberg.com:

The extra compensation underscores a broader trend in California, where government workers are paid more than in other states for similar duties. Among them: city managers whose pay is higher than the governor’s, prison doctors who make more than counterparts in other states and Los Angeles firefighters who collect twice the national mean.

…California unions have secured almost 400 pay differentials granting additional wages to state employees.

Certain workers at the Department of General Services, for example, are eligible for a $10,000 annual bonus for “exceptional performance.” Some accountants working at San Quentin prison outside San Francisco get $200 a month as a retention bonus on top of their $3,209 maximum monthly salary. Hydroelectric plant workers get an extra $1.10 an hour to work rotating shifts, in addition to the $32 to $38 an hour a senior operator typically makes.

Workers tasked with fielding phone calls from the public at the Consumer Affairs Department earn an extra $100 a month “in recognition of the complex work load and level and knowledge required to receive and respond to consumer calls.”

Besides overtime, extra-duty pay and bonuses, state workers got payments totaling $293 million, mostly for unused vacation and accrued leave. The state also paid out $25 million more to 74,000 workers for fringe benefits such as clothing allowances and mileage.

So as California suffers and jobs and wealth and companies and productive people depart, making the state poorer and poorer, Moore lives his fat-cat life in support of the same policies that are destroying a state that once was one of the richest places on earth.

Enough said. That is all we need to know. Capitalism employs. Socialism destroys. Period. End of story.
