The Amazing Devolution of the Obama ‘Up Yours’ Campaign

Obama flip

In my article, published Wednesday on Examiner.com, I touched on my observations of the current “embarrassing truths about the Obama campaign.” But the venomous animosity that President Barack Obama holds for those who never bought into his illusion of messianic greatness – and his seething intolerance for the growing number of former supporters who are starting to face his reality – goes much deeper than that.

Four years ago, a relatively unknown Illinois senator sailed into the White House on a wave of “Hope and Change.” With just over 10 weeks to go before Election Day – while having to drag his four-year “track record” around the campaign trail toward his reelection in the heat of serious competition — his façade of well crafted cool has begun to crack.

As he lamented himself in Miami, Fla. last year, “It’s not as cool to be an Obama supporter as it was in 2008, with the posters and all that stuff.”

Just as Barack Obama insulted an American citizen who expressed concern about the rising cost of gas – telling the father of in Pennsylvania who couldn’t afford gas to “think about a trade-in” — our commander-in-chief/champion of the middle class thumped another concerned citizen who dared to interrupt his scripted blather during a campaign rally at a Las Vegas-area high school.

He has insulted India and Pakistan, our allies in France and Poland and he has humiliated the Dalai Lama – twice.

To keep up on Obama’s insults to England and Israel, you might want to grab a beverage and a snack before sitting down to review Nigel Gardiner’s respective “top ten” lists in the U.K. Telegraph.

But as the illusions of Hope and Change continue to dissolve in the acid of reality, the president is starting to run out of demographics to flip off right here in America.

He has slammed corporations, “millionaires and billionaires,” Wall Street “fat cats,” waged war against big oil companies and threatened to “bankrupt” the coal industry.

He has insulted the Justices of the United States Supreme Court – twice.

Of course, any Americans who disagree with his policies are irrelevant idiots who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

He has disparaged Latinos, and the “typical white person” – like his grandmother —  and when it comes to economics, American voters in general are stupid.

To African Americans who have become disillusioned by the disparity between promises and action, he tells them to “stop complaining” about their disappointments regarding his first term and to “start marching” on his behalf for a second term.

To America’s entrepreneurs, who dare to think that they are somehow – in some way — responsible for their own success, the president informed them: “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

In response to the two groups of military veterans — Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund and Special Operations Speaks – currently running campaign ads attacking him for multiple intelligence leaks and for taking too much responsibility for the killing of Osama bin Laden, President Leading From Behind showed them the same amount of respect he gave active military when his campaign filed a lawsuit to eliminate additional time for in-person early voting allotted to Ohio’s service members.

I don’t take these folks too seriously.

Regarding his own sentiments, on whether or not the Navy SEALS should be taken “too seriously,” Osama could not be reached for comment.

As for the rest of us “folks” out here in America – us stupid, complaining, religious, bitter gun clingers whom he also doesn’t seem to be taking “too seriously” — our message is simple.

See you in November, Mr. President.
