You can give up on trying to win the Presidency. Hispanics and blacks make up to much of the population and when they as an aggregate go 80% for democrats you may as well hang it up.
You can complain and moan all you want about Romney the candidate but the reality is that there are to many people on the government cheese and to many minorities who refuse to vote Republican. It doesn't matter if we are the party of ideas or the party of fiscal responsibility. The demo shift has created a country of people with their hands out and they aren't going to vote Republican no matter what the situation.
The ONLY answer is to put all of our resources towards individual Senate and House races. We need to do a much better job of recruiting candidates, we need to get off the social purity express and worry more about finding economic stalwarts. If I asked you to name your favorite characteristics about Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio you would probably say they are both high character and competent guys. You would talk more about their economic credentials and leadership abilities before you would talk about their stances on abortion.
We have nominated a gaggle of horrific senate candidates the past two cycles because they fit our purity tests. If you put better candidates in place instead of folks like O'Donnell, Angle, Akin, and Mourdock, and to a lesser extent Mack and Buck we control the Senate and the House.
The search needs to start today. Start identifying political superstars to run for Senate seats and get the party behind them immediately. Who in 2016 is going to beat Hillary? Arizona will be a swing state in 4 years and Texas will be one in 10 years. You think we have a problem now....add another 3 or 4 percent of the total vote to Dems and it will be a complete wipeout. We have to focus on the Senate and the House. It is our only avenue to have a controlling interest in Government.
