A stand for life. Stupak is holding. Says other colleagues are under enormous pressure from the White House and Pelosi. Call them up and put some counterpressure and encourage them to vote NO.

If you’re a pro-life Democratic congressmen, you have to ask yourself would you rather face the wrath of the White House and Pelosi or the wrath of the people if you abandoned your principles and voted yea?  Are you willing to become Ben Nelson so Obama, Pelosi and Reid can claim credit for accomplishing something terrible over your political grave?

Even though I don’t agree with Stupak on a lot of issues, I have to commend him for taking a stand for the unborn.

UPDATE:  H/T HHR  — Took a trip over to the Hedgehog Report.  Someone posted over there that a Dem source of his is saying that Pelosi is persuading House Dems on the fence that once this passes, they will argue that the GOP is trying to take away your healthcare and their political fortunes will improve.  Now, I have to take everything with a grain of salt when I see something like this.  However, this does look like classic Democratic playbook.  They have used this for years with arguments to seniors and low-income families.  Demonize the GOP is always trying to take something away from you.  The Democrats are experts at playing on unfortunate souls, using emotional tools of bitterness, anger, to create voting blocs but in reality, don’t do squat for these people.  Ultimately, by using these tools, the Democratic party robs and blinds unfortunate people from achieving the American dream by putting them into this prison of bitterness and anger.  In doing so, they use this to gain more political power, line their pockets with campaign contributions from these people whom get nothing in return, and ultimately rob these people to pursue their dreams.  The Democratic party for the most part today is despicable.  Now you know why they are always using sob stories, emotional platitudes, and other tools to tug at a person’s heart strings.  They are crony salespeople of the first order.
