The Democratic Party Citizens United decision whining continues…

Never mind that unions are donating enormous sums of money to this election as well.  First, soon to be ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi:

“Everything was going great and all of a sudden secret money from God knows where — because they won’t disclose it — is pouring in,” the California Democrat told about 100 donors at the fundraiser, according to a White House pool reporter in attendance.

Personally Madame Speaker, it’s none of your business who is donating and where it is coming from.  It wasn’t that important of an issue when the Obama campaign was accepting anonymous pre-paid credit card donations or accepting donations from Palestinians in Gaza.

We of course know about the White House ridiculous attacks on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  And now Stuart Smalley and a host of ultra-liberal Democrats wants the FEC to investigate third party PACs.

From The Hill:

A group of Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), sent a letter to the Federal Election Commission last week, applauding the agencies’ decision to consider a new rule regarding foreign companies’ ability to buy political ads. Democrats are raising the issue of foreign influence after recent reports that businesses headquartered abroad are fueling some of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s massive political ad buys this election. The Chamber gained the power to fund unlimited political ads after the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision earlier this year lifting limits on business and union political spending.

This all goes back to the SCOTUS decision in favor of Citizens United in essence upholding the first amendment and enraged Obama and his Democratic colleagues so much that Obama put down the justices down in the State of the Union speech with Chuck Schumer standing and clapping loudly with a bitter beer face right behind the justices.  The SCOTUS decision was the correct one and the Democrats are upset because their advantage they gained from the McCain-Finegold atrocity because they knew the GOP would honor, follow the law, and play by the rules.  However, Democratic politicians nowadays are known for bending and outright breaking the laws.  McCain-Finegold was their baby that would ensure their hold on power at least for the next decade if not more.  When the SCOTUS decision came down, they knew the 2010 mid-term and future elections were going to be very difficult.  The MSM screamed their objections about the decision.

The Democratic Party is using this as the scapegoat issue to explain the horrendous losses they will reap a little over a week from now.  They don’t want to face the fact that it was their runaway and reckless spending, their corrupt and shadowy actions in the halls of Congress when laws were being written,  forcing legislation against the will of the People in the form of Obamacare, and their astounding lack of understanding in regards to what makes this nation’s economy go.  So long as they can have a reason that takes the blame off themselves, so much the better.  Their arrogance and pride knows no end.

Now it is well known that the GOP’s core values are the party of small business and the American Dream, of fiscal and individual responsibility that you are responsible for your success and should reap the rewards of your hard work, of limited government, spending and taxation.  As Abraham Lincoln once observed:

Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.

Whenever there is an economic downturn that is a result of corruption in the free market, the GOP suffers in elections and people turn to Democrats to fix the problem.  This is what brought Franklin Delano Roosevelt to power.  It is what brought Barack Obama to power.  This is the paradox that this nation has always faced.  History has taught us is if individual Americans stop doing right by each other from the corporate owners and officers, to the small business owner, down to the lone American individual, when equal justice for all becomes diluted, more of our freedoms are taken away by corrupt and elitist politicians in the form of legislative law who wish to rule nowadays rather than serve. First, Ronald Reagan who stated the most frightening words to hear were:

I’m the government and I’m here to help.

Abraham Lincoln again:

At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.

So where does the responsibility of survival and making this country great rely?  It does not rely on the people and institutions of government.  The measure of this country’s character and the leaders it elects is indicated in proportion to government intervention that was necessary because a certain faction of people in places of influence and responsibility were corrupt. It solely relies on the character, goodness, virtue and industry of you, me, and all the people of this nation and to punish those who with their corrupt actions would endanger the freedoms that we so many times have taken for granted and God has been so gracious to shed on us.

Vote on November 2nd.
