Yeah, you could say I got really angry of the events over the last 24 hours. Shades of 1979. Embassies being attacked and Americans being slaughtered. Got even angrier when the media and some very pansy unnamed “GOP sources”, even a John McCain aide are desperately trying to turn this into a Romney gaffe (Note: Take this article with high skepticism as it was written by Ben Smith who used to be Politico. Keep in mind the media is playing divide-and-conquer for their Presidential idol). The left is even saying the Romney statement came before the attacks happened. Ummmm…
I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.
Gee, that Romney guy is one heck of a prophet, foreseeing the attacks on the embassy.
When Romney mentions the Obama administration “sympathizing” with “those who waged the attacks,” he refers to this statement, released prior to the Embassy storming in Cairo by the Embassy:
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.
Nice attempt to spin this you Obama Kool-Aid drinking media. You’ll definitely have to try harder in corroborating to trip Mitt up when he took a rightful swipe at your Dear Leader’s awful lack of strength. It’s actually funny how desperately the media is trying to turn this around on Romney as an unsavory political attack. Of course, they are hollering because they know this attack is right on and they have to save their Dear Leader. Guess what? Romney has something that Obama is sorely lacking. A backbone and balls. Surprisingly, this notoriously left newspaper gives an honest timeline of the events that happened. The point Romney is making is that the horribly wimpy and appeasing statement that United States Embassy in Cairo put out was the position of the Obama Administration. It had to be. Embassies don’t put out statements like that unless it is in line with the diplomatic policy at the White House. Of course, the White House Administration did a furious back pedal and disavowed the embassy’s statement as quickly as they could, saying was completely out of line with the Administration’s stance. I have a hard time believing their explanation. However, it could be that Obama’s White House doesn’t really have a handle on anything up there which would be consistent given Bob Woodward’s new book release “The Price of Politics” that highlighted the aloofness, poor discipline, unpreparedness and arrogance in the White House. This is evidenced (again) the fact that the U.S. Consulate in Libya was unfortified and had no marines ready to snipe off any protestor with ill intentions. So is Obama weak or a lazy leader? Probably all of the above.
The only thing that keeps violent Islamic men in their holes of cowardice is our willingness to wield our might, always keeping the peace with strength. Unfortunately in this world, that is the only way it works. You don’t do it by trying to hold hands with the enemy. Obama has revealed himself to be a horrible foreign policy disaster. I hope Mitt keeps on highlighting just what a weak pansy Obama is. I hope conservatives and all Republicans support Mitt’s strong stand that he made today and I hope he doesn’t back down one bit from it.
