Would You Trust These Jerk-Offs To Run Anything?

Just 22 percent of respondents said they can trust the government “almost always” or “most of the time,” marking the lowest confidence rating in half a century. (HT: Pew Research Center)

The American People do not trust or respect the people in charge of their government. A satirist would at this point comment that he or she isn’t terribly fond of transacting business with Goldman Sachs either. While not entirely accurate, General Electric and Boeing get their cut as well, the wisecrack strips a lot of what is wrong down to the nub. American governance is so utterly divorced from the daily aspirations of the American People that the average scared, frustrated and disempowered that they view us all as cretinous Morlocks with no intelligent justification for our daily concerns.

Nowhere is the pathetic sense of self-entitlement more apparent than at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The executive branch of the US Government has become a parasitic fungus that feeds off the levies from a downtrodden and subinfuedated population. The anecdotes are endless and anodyne. We read that the very agency concerned with the ethics and morality of Goldman Sachs sits in its posh, Federal offices, with it’s pants around its ankles, engaged in auto-erotic perversion, while the nation’s leading investment banks steal our country’s wealth.

Among the startling findings:

- A senior attorney at the SEC’s Washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day looking at and downloading pornography. When his government computer ran out of hard drive space, he burned the files to CDs or DVDs. He later agreed to resign.

- An accountant was blocked more than 16,000 times in a single month from visiting “sex” or “pornography” sites, but still managed to amass a collection of “very graphic” material by using Google to bypass the SEC’s internal filter. He wound up with a 2-week suspension.

- Seventeen of the randy employees were “at a senior level” earning salaries of up to $222,418.

- The number of cases jumped from two in 2007 to 16 in 2008. The cracks in the financial system emerged in mid-2007 and spread into full-blown panic by the fall of 2008. (HT: New York Daily News)

This disgusting and blatant fraud should come as no surprise. It directly reflects the total sense of self-entitlement and lack of any relevant concern for America’s welfare shown by the leaders of our national government. This year’s Earth Day Propaganda-Fests detailed the level of hubris we currently have infesting the White House.

On a day when many Americans will be reflecting upon how they can reduce their impact on the environment, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will board separate jets in Washington on Earth Day morning to fly 250 miles up the east coast to New York, where they will land at separate airports to attend separate events within a few miles of each other.(HT: NYCaviation.com)

This means that at a time when the government cost of a Gallon of JP-8 has risen from $1.66 in February 2009, to $2.82 in January 2010, these two arrogant panjandrums couldn’t be bothered with only attending one Earth Day Event. Given the cost of this symbolic propaganda trip, the country would have been better served with Joe Biden helping the gardeners weed the White House Tulips.

These two things seem totally unconnected, but they are not. The computer time of the SEC porn honchos, sequestered to the government to make us all invest more ethically, and the expensive JP-8 burned, to make the rest of us more natural resource conscious, are both joined at the hip. They each show us where the Obama Administration places its priorities. The buck stops here – it’s the cost that buck should pay for that gets powered down to us at the end of pile-driver.

We quite literally, are now governed by a bunch of over-paid, over-lawyered jerk-offs! Why is there a tea-party? Because even in our wrath we remain too civilized to set up a Committee of Public Safety. We have a legion of Thomas Paines, but blessedly have yet to spawn Danton, Marot or Robespierre. It will remain that way provided our government is merely distrusted rather than actively despised.

Thus, while Joe Wilson regrettably channeled Congressman Pete Stark, and called a sitting President of the other party a liar, we have yet to accuse President Barack Obama of sending American troops to the Middle East to “get their heads blown off for the president’s amusement.” (HT: NRO) In fact, at no time during the administration’s, dare I say it, jerking-off over whether to send more troops to Afghanistan, did anyone associated with his political opposition offer up a public display even close to the execrable and stupid “General Betrayus” add.

No one in the GOP or it’s intellectual circle, has released a novel fantasizing about assassinating the POTUS. We have yet to see National Review or the Weekly Standard publish anything near level of septic toxicity measured in Jonathan Chait’s infamous “The Case For Bush Hatred.” Perhaps that’s because we’ve lost faith in government. It’s difficult to feel betrayed by institution you were too intelligent to trust in the first place.

Thus, the people see a government whose CEO received over $994K from one of the most corrupt and immoral corporations on the face of the planet and won’t return one dime. They see the agency who works for this man to regulate the most corrupt corporations on the face of the planet literally jerking off to Internet porn instead of doing their jobs. It seems like the most corrupt corporation on the face of the planet is getting just exactly the sort of regulatory climate they bought themselves a Barack Obama to establish in the first place.

For these people to wonder why we all don’t just trust them more is, dare I say it, audacious. The logical question becomes “Who would trust these jerk-offs to run anything?”
