‘We Are One’ video
According to the “We Are One” website:
April 4, unions, people of faith, civil and human rights activists, students and other progressive allies will host a range of community and workplace-focused actions. Join us in solidarity with working people in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and dozens of other states where well-funded, right-wing corporate politicians are trying to take away the rights Dr. King gave his life for. It’s a day to show movement. Teach-ins. Vigils. Faith events. A day to be creative, but clear: We are one.
“…Well-funded, right-wing, corporation politicians are trying to take away the rights Dr. King gave his life for?”
1. As I’ve stated before, when you’re protesting “well-funded, right-wing, corporation politicians,” while being funded by billionaire George Soros, the DNC, MoveOn.org, as well as communist and socialist groups, you loose all credibility.
2. I attended the 8/28 rally, where Dr. King’s niece gave one of the best speeches I have heard. In it, she spoke about what her uncle stood for and the things he died for. I could be wrong, but I remember equal rights and equal justice being the key issues. You know, what American citizens are guaranteed by the constitution, not collective bargaining for taxpayer funds. Dr. King fought for equality within the unions. Most unions were extremely racist to the black workers, or wouldn’t hire them at all. It had nothing to do with private sector taxes funding public sector workers.
The left is good at one thing, organizing. On the sites “Ideas for Events” page, they start off with “Team up with local congregations.” Nothing says ‘good union riot’ like picketing next to your pastor. …Folks, if you were sitting in church this Sunday, and in the middle of the sermon your preacher started encouraging that you unite with the unions on April 4th, you may want to look into joining a different church. If you’re thinking, “What’s wrong with my church supporting the working man?” Well nothing, if you don’t mind that the union organizing this, the AFL-CIO, is run by Richard Trumka, who likes to spend his time strengthening his ties with the Communist Party-USA.
Of course. like every
astroturf grassroots protest, the large organizations funding the unions have done the hard work for them. Here you can find signs, logos, fliers, and more. Probably paid for by union dues, which in public unions are your redistributed tax dollars. They’ll thank you later, I’m sure.
On a side note, “We Are One” sounds oddly similar to other events that have been organized lately. Remember the ‘One Nation Working Together’ rally? It was the rally on 10/2/10, where unions stood side-by-side with socialist and communist organizations on the mall in Washington D.C. Take a look at the sponsors.
Wake up America.
