There’s a two-day conference on global warming going on in Santa Barbara, CA. One of those who is extremely skeptical of it being due to man’s activities is Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus, an economist by trade. He was scheduled to debate former U.S. Veep Al Gore (a lying weasel by trade) at this conference; lo and behold, the organizers decided at the last minute it would be better for the Goreacle to be at the conference only on Thursday (yesterday):
The organisers decided to change the conference programme to attract the maximum attention on both days as Klaus and Gore are the key speakers at the conference, LN writers, referring to a source close to the organisers.
Somehow, I doubt this was the actual reason, as does a spokesman for Klaus:
“Gore might have feared such a clash,” he added.
The other day, the Goreacle was confronted by another skeptic, as noted by JammieWearingFool:
But he was challenged by Mr. Lomborg, the Danish skeptical environmentalist who thinks the world would be better off spending more money on health and education issues than curbing carbon emissions.
“I don’t mean to corner you, or maybe I do mean to corner you, but would you be willing to have a debate with me on that point?” asked the polo-shirt wearing Dane.
“I want to be polite to you,” Mr. Gore responded. But, no. “The scientific community has gone through this chapter and verse. We have long since passed the time when we should pretend this is a ‘on the one hand, on the other hand’ issue,” he said. “It’s not a matter of theory or conjecture, for goodness sake,” he added.
For decades, a consensus of scientists believed that Piltdown Man was the missing link between man and apes. That is until it was proven to be a fraud.
I have no idea if man is or isn’t contributing all that much to any global warming that may or may not be occurring. What I do see is that there isn’t a consensus among the scientists that it is happening, which is completely antithetical to what the Goreacle wants the world to believe; in his and his followers’ eyes, all those who disagree are heretics. Gore might as well be making the case that Piltdown Man is the missing link, because his statements on man-made global warming are no different.
I would take bets that the Goreacle backed out of a debate with Klaus, because Gore is too cowardly to actually debate the issue.
