I started earlier. I would have ignored Matt Yglesias the rest of the day until I saw this. Like a typical leftist who frequently engages in racism, he equates Muslims with Al Qaeda (something Greenwald does all the time):
Al-Qaeda is not an organization primarily focused on Israel issues, and obviously is not an organization that would go out of business even if a Palestinian state were created. But Israel’s conduct, and America’s attitude toward that conduct, are an important lens through which Muslims see the United States.
Yglesias links to a New York Times piece about the terrorist who killed 8 CIA operatives, highlighting a part in order to prove his truly despicable point [emphasis from original]:
H[is brother] described Mr. Balawi as a “very good brother” and a “brilliant doctor,” saying that the family knew nothing of Mr. Balawi’s writings under a pseudonym on jihadi Web sites. He said, however, that his brother had been “changed” by last year’s three-week-long Israeli offensive in Gaza, which killed about 1,300 Palestinians.
So in the pea that makes up Yglesias' small mind, that "horrible" "invasion" of Gaza by the "evil" Israel is truly what led some "brilliant doctor" become an American-killing terrorist. Garbage.
Being a typical leftist Jew, Yglesias has no love for Israel. With his new found revelation about "why" an Islamist terrorist became a terrorist, Yglesias "loves" Israel a little less, linking to the equally despicable Spencer Ackerman (who links to the even more despicable Greenwald) at the same time to help "prove" his thesis:
This reality makes a lot of American Jews uncomfortable to the point where they try to insist on denying that Israel has anything to do with anyone’s motives for doing anything, but that’s absurd.
He then goes on to lament about all the people that have died over the years during the recent Arab-Israeli conflicts, most of whom were Arabs. Naturally, Yglesias deliberately fails to mention that it was fellow Arabs who have killed most of their own people, not Israelis. He doesn't mention it because it destroys his argument.
These jerks love to talk about how conservatives "cower" in the face of terrorism. Yet, it is these leftist turds who perpetuate the lies of America's enemies. Because this post of his so frosts me, I can't help but believe that Yglesias and those like Yglesias, especially Glenn Greenwald, who does the same thing, are the true cowards.
I feel the very same way every time a hear some clown in the Obama administration, and even The One himself, shamefully mentioning that the closing of Gitmo will take away a talking point of Al Qaeda on how evil the U.S. is. It makes me cringe every time I hear it. All it does is play into the hands of the enemy. That may be what a community organizer might do, but not a Commander in Chief, nor his administration.
