And they are going to get more than one lesson.
Look at the arrogance of the The Won, via DRJ at Patterico’s [emphasis mine]:
“If there’s one thing that I regret this year is that we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values,” Obama told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview at the White House.
Obama didn’t speak TO the American people about what THEIR core values are?
Excuse me? Uh, Mr. President, Mr. The Won, the American people already KNOW what THEIR core values are. We, the American people, don’t need some elitist, leftist, statist snob to tell US what OUR core values are. Just because he was elected President doesn’t give him this kind of authority, definitely not one found in the U.S. Constitution. Obama barely acts like the Commander in Chief; maybe he should master that job before telling the American people what their core values are.
As for The Won not communicating enough, DRJ covers that:
Meanwhile, CBS reports that in his first year in office, President Obama gave 411 speeches, comments and remarks, conducted 42 news conferences, appeared at 23 town hall meetings, 7 campaign rallies, and 28 political fundraisers, and granted 158 interviews … plus trips to 30 states and 21 nations, and meetings with 74 foreign leaders.
As if that isn’t enough, Senate Democrats distributed some talking points to TPM as a sort of “welcome to the Senate, Scott Brown”. Go ahead and read them, but do so on an empty stomach. Darleen Click has the appropriate reply, “Bite me, Democrats.” She adds [emphasis from original, and edited for content]:
And until you start shedding your basic contempt for American citizens – that somehow they aren’t intelligent enough to know what’s good for them and only YOU stand between them an utter ruin, so you have to tell them by law how to light their homes, what homes they will be allowed to live in, what car to drive, what food to eat or grow, what doctors they see, how much money they will be allowed to earn and keep, what wealth they will be allowed to leave their children, what churches they should be allowed to attend, what thoughts they will be allowed to think …
F_ _ _.You.
My sentiments exactly.
