Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D-PA, Erie) must be defeated in this conservative disctrict as she basks in Pelosi's sun. It was Dahlkemper that wrote the bill to cover children up through age 26 on their parent's insurance.
From the Post-Gazette article:
In the words of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.House of Representatives, Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, D-Erie, was "the person of the hour" yesterday. They assembled at a news conference in the U.S. Capitol to announce that a bill introduced by Ms. Dahlkemper to allow young adults to stay on their parents' insurance plans from age 19 through 26 will be included in pending health care reform legislation. Pennsylvania, one of 30 states to have a similar provision, passed a law this year allowing young people to remain on their parents' health insurance until they turn 30.
"There is a clear and urgent need to provide health care to young adults," said Ms. Dahlkemper. "When they have emergencies, their care often comes at taxpayer expense or not at all."
For someone who realizes she is from a conservative district, she has really gone to the left. And she is not representing her district that she does understand.
"My district could swing either way I really believe," Dahlkemper said. "It's a moderate district. I have been elected to represent my district. To go really far to the left would not be representing it."
This pic should sum it all up for voters. Giver her the boot.
