Fred Upton and Mary Landrieu have each bills that require insurance companies to keep insurance policies that were in place before Obamacare passed in 2010. The problem with this concept is that nothing isn't solved necessarily. Erick Erickson wrote 2 diaries last night and just this today warning Republicans that this is trap that would set in place Landrieu's reelection.
I'm not sure I entirely agree with what he said, but he does have point that this is very risky move to make. I encourage you to email and call your Rep and Senator and tell them vote no. The only acceptable "fix" to Obamacare is at the least repeal of all federal mandates which put overwhelming pressure on individuals and insurance companies. If that's to happen then Obamacare will simply exist as an extra organ with some million people in it.
I read a post at Forbes.com which predicts that Obamacare will be repealed before the 2014 elections. It's very fascinating must say and I happen to agree with it. The outcry against Obamacare is only growing stronger day by day and Senators like Kay Hagan are feeling the pressure. Back in September, she was leading all of her potential opponents by double digits, but since then she's went into a dead heat. One of her opponents actually leads her by one point is physician Greg Brannon who Rand Paul endorsed. I suggest you go check him out.
Point being is that Obamacare is among the worst pieces of legislation passed by Congress in U.S. History. It's unfixable and should repealed totally. Sen. Ted Cruz from what I heard has introduced legislation that would do so and allow selling of insurance across state lines. So please shout as loud as possible so the House GOP knows not to make this mistake. Repeal it.
