Celebrating Washington’s Birthday

Call it President’s Day and celebrate past presidents or go with the legally designated Washington’s birthday and celebrate our first President. Your choice  In honor of this day let’s hear from the man himself:

“The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.

“The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon. “
“Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.
And one of my personal favorites:
“The marvel of all history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments.”
All of President Washington’s quotes came from Brainy Quote because I’m feeling particularly lazy today for some reason.  But the man, this first signer of our Constitution,  had so much to offer and there is a link at the bottom if you want to look up more of his stuff.  If you ever wonder what the Constitution really stands for just look at his words. Please consider this an open thread  regarding Washington or presidents in general.
