In the latest health care bill introduced in the house yesterday it appears as if the much controversial 'Death Panels' are back.
First on page 129
"shall provide for the dissemination of information related to end-of-life planning to individuals seeking enrollment in Exchange-participating health benefits plans offered through the Exchange;"
Then on page 642
"An explanation by the practitioner of the role and responsibilities of a health care proxy and of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title. "
Among the panels and commissions that are included in the bill, one of the groups of bureaucrats below could one day be deciding if you cost too much to keep alive.
Health Benefits Advisory Committee
Clinical perspective advisory panel
Personal Care Attendant Workforce Advisory Panel
Medicare Payment Advisory Commission
Our Congress is a complete embarrassment to this nation. We need a congressional overhaul, not a health care overhaul.
