I'm not saying the environment isn't an important issue. As a matter of fact, Christians are instructed to, among other things be stewards of the Earth. But there are relevant differences between being a steward of the Earth and being one who actually worships the Earth. The problem for liberals is that they worship the Earth even when they don't realize they worship the Earth.
What does the bible say? In (Genesis 1:26)-Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Though man was given dominion by God over the Earth and every living creature on Earth, that doesn't mean we were given a license to be irresponsible and destructive, even though that has been the case throughout history. But it also means we've been blessed with opportunities to advance the human race and our standard of living through means of production, industrialization, and energy innovation. I'm all for alternative energy sources, if those sources are found to be economically viable at a rate faster than fossil fuels; so far that is not the case. It will take some more time before we can create a long term plan for alternative energy usage on a wide scale for every human being on this planet. In order to do that we need to make sure these sources like wind, water, and solar aren't fool's gold endeavors where treasure, legislation, and time are being wasted.
But on the issue of global warming and Hurricane Sandy. Not surprising the left is using this unfortunate natural disaster to ring the alarm for yet another "national debate" on climate change and global warming. All the usual suspects are out there trying to tell Americans how dumb they are for not taking this non-issue as serious as they supposedly should have. And of course the conservatives are being blamed because we're a bunch of buck tooth, barefoot, flat earth bible clutchers who don't believe in no dat gum Earth warmin'.
Well, as a proud member of the barefoot climate denier society (BCDS) I reject the very concept of man made global warming...or climate change as it's now known. First off you know it's funny how the climatologists and the science community has to manipulate data and lie about certain aspects of their data in order to support their theories and claims about global warming, yet as a Christian I don't need to manipulate the word of God in order to support my theory and claim that man made global warming is an absolute farce and a non-issue. All I have to do is crack open my brown leather bound bible with the folded pages and book marks sticking out the top and present to you the facts, plain and simple for all to hear.
What does God's word say about the weather? To quote Pastor Tony Smith, "Listen to the book":( Isiah 28:2, 22)-"Behold the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a tempest of mighty waters overflowing, will he cast down to the earth with the hand. For a decree of destruction have I heard from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, upon the whole Earth"
Shall I continue? Lets, (Ezekiel 13:11, 11)- "Rain will come in torrents, In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger torrents of rain will fall with destructive fury"
Still not convinced? I'll continue, I mean the bible talks about drought and violent thunderstorms, windstorms, torrents of rain, earth quakes, hailstorms, it's all in there if you look. I mean unless the good book was written by a gang of psychics it's pretty much on point with what's going on today, what has already happened in the past, and what's likely to come in the future.
Do you think it's merely coincidence that these weather events are happening and the bible details a mirror image of those events throughout? I don't know, maybe I'm just a nut bat and a nutty bar but if events in our world are lining up with what the bible outlines word for word then perhaps this whole wicked weather thing is a lot deeper than the human race using too much oil and driving too many Ford Explorers...just saying.
But I want people who believe in climate change, or "climate change" to lower the oceans and cool the Earth using man made means. Or well, I want to see them try at least. But I know, because the word said it, that no matter what we as humans do, outside of prayer and repentence, we cannot stop these tragic weather disasters from happening.
Listen to Jesus as he touched on this topic as it pertains to revelation:( Luke 21:11)- " There will be great earthquakes, famine, and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven"
Read between the lines, how many large scale earthquakes have we had between 2011-2012 alone? But it's not just earthquakes but all weather, which will turn more ferocious and more prevalent as time goes on because we're in the last days.
Meteorologists said Hurricane Sandy took an unprecedented turn left toward the east coast of the United States. You gotta cut the key words and analyze them. "Unprecedented" What does that word mean? It means "without previous instance, unparalleled, never before known or experienced, unexampled"
What are the odds that they would use that word to describe this storm and its trajectory? What are the odds that everything in the bible as it relates to weather is happening before our very eyes? Is it no big deal that all the sudden major weather events are suddenly taking place at this moment in our history? All within a sort of continuous span of each other?
To my liberal friends, all of whom I wish repentance and salvation, climate change doesn't exist, and it didn't cause Hurricane Sandy. We're living in an age of great turmoil economically, culturally, socially, and yes enviromentally. I don't have to contort and cut and paste the everlasting word of the Almighty God to back up what some would call a "bold claim" about global warming or whatever you seek to call it next week. But again, the scientists pushing the agenda were on record of being found guilty of manipulating the data in order to support their outlandish theory.
But to appease this nonsense, I'll humor our liberal friends: Say climate change does indeed exist, man didn't cause it, God still played a role. If you take every gas chugging SUV, every coal plant, every oil company, and every mass producing manufacturing plant off the face of this Earth, Sandy would have happened regardless. The only way man caused wicked weather is by man's own wickedness. Now that, is a national debate we oughta be having right now.
