Alan Grayson's latest ad portraying Daniel Webster as being oppressive toward women is a complete fabrication from start to finish. The Grayson campaign deliberately took Webster's words out of context, as shown in the video below.
In fact, the ad attempts to portray Webster in the exact opposite manner than that which he was speaking of. Webster was telling men to look past the verses in the Bible that say a wife should submit to her husband and look for verses that address a man's responsibility to his wife. The actual quote:
"I have verses [to pray] for my wife. Don't pick the ones that say, um 'She should submit to me.' That's in the Bible, but pick the ones that you're supposed to do. So instead, 'love your wife, even as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for it' as opposed to "wives submit to your own husbands.'"
With the truth now apparent for all to see, it's very clear that honesty and integrity mean little to Alan Grayson. This effort by his campaign is designed to intentionally mislead the public and Grayson needs to be held accountable for this. This man is a sitting U.S. Congressman and is bound by a code of conduct becoming a man of his position.
Grayson must immediately pull the ad and issue a public apology to Daniel Webster and the residents of district 8.
As disturbing as Alan Grayson's lack of moral character is, it is equally disturbing that he has violated the trust that his constituency has placed in him. Grayson's desperate quest to retain his seat of power and his shameful lust for the limelight have exposed his true values and proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is not worthy of the honor of representing the people of Central Florida.
In fact, Grayson is making a mockery of this election and, in these critically challenging times, we deserve far better. If you agree, the best action you can take to spare Central Florida further embarrassment is to make a donation to Dan Webster's campaign - https://secure.donationreport.com/donate.html?key=8LI7KDO8RIOF
