Gov. Brewer succeeds in pushing President Obama into…
...giving a speech!
Actually, it’s more than just a speech. All indications are this Thursday will be the Summer kickoff to our next political nightmare; trying to stave off yet another Amnesty package.
Even now, activists working through OFA are planning on targeting GOP Congress members and “making them pay” if they don’t line up for amnesty.
Meeting with Obama on Monday, labor leaders, activists, and Congressional Democrats discussed their strategy;
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is enlisting activists and labor leaders in a push for comprehensive immigration legislation that will showcase Republican opposition and include a speech by the president.
The strategy was discussed during a meeting Monday by a range of prominent labor leaders and activist groups. Participants said Obama reiterated his support for immigration legislation but noted the political realities that have stalled it in Congress.
Latino leaders say they will work in coming months to pressure Republicans to give way and support an immigration bill — and make opponents pay at the ballot box if they don’t.
“We’re going to make absolutely crystal clear who’s at fault here,” said Eliseo Medina, a leader of the Service Employees International Union.
The activists groups, seeing an alarming trend in Obama starting to be blamed for failing to pass “Immigration Reform” are trying desperately to turn the tide back to the more familiar “Blame Republicans” meme;
In marches and rallies this year, immigrant groups have blamed Mr. Obama for falling short on the overhaul. But some advocates left the meeting saying they would shift their message.
“We really have to raise the stakes on the Republicans to make it clear who is responsible for where we are,” said Eliseo Medina, a vice-president of the Service Employees International Union.
It not like the GOP hasn’t faced this before, but this will be the first time they’ve had activist support of their own.
That would be us.
As hard as leftist Latino activists and sympathizers push Republicans to the left, we have to push back harder to the right. The left will have their venom and hatred; we have to have calls of support, and where appropriate, donations.

So this Summer, take your breaks (what few there are), recharge, but keep an eye on your favorite news sites, because the time to hit the bricks and start cranking will be upon us yet again.
[UPDATE] Even today, the “Most Transparent President in History” had another closed-door meeting on Obamigration;
President Obama added a late meeting this afternoon, a closed-to-the-media session of what the White House described as “grass-roots leaders” discussing “comprehensive immigration reform.”
The meeting takes place amid anticipation that Obama’s Justice Department will soon file a lawsuit against the controversial Arizona law that gives law enforcement officers authority to ask residents about their citizenship.
