Sometimes progress seems elusive or may be taking place but it is hidden beneath the surface and cannot be measured.
While Obama continues to overreach and misread the meaning of his reelection, Americans, I believe, are taking note and doing a lot of soul-searching and Constitution reading. While Obama mocks and tries to marginalize traditional Americans and traditional American beliefs and values, traditional Americans are quietly listening and secretly offended. Many -- like myself -- think, 'who is this man and who does he think he is?'
No matter what the left throws at us, or how loud they scream that they have won, the game is over and Obama has succeeded at transforming America for good, most Americans secretly laugh. More and more, Obama is seen as the boisterous, pathetic bully that he really is and people actually are listening to him less and less.
Sometimes in the heat of the battle, the louder voices seem to be winning. Then the Roves in our own party -- terrified at the progress conservatives and Tea Party Americans are making -- start to clamor in panic and, in essence, join in agreement with Obama that traditional Americans and conservatives are losers and has-beens and must be destroyed.
And I laugh.
I guess I'm an optimist and see how all of this is going to ultimately turn out for the good of the nation. I see how the Constitution is working and how it is a constant thorn in the flesh to Obama and the left in general, preventing them from forcing their agenda on us completely.
Conservatives need to worry less and trust Americans more. The core of who we are is still there. And two terms of an administration that basically hates most everything that makes America good and wonderful will not defeat her. To the contrary, she will come through this renewed and strengthened in her resolve.
I have another Psalm scripture, today. Don't you love the Psalms?
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in thee. Psalm 84:11,12
