David Brooks???

I say good riddance to David Brooks. In his piece today, he sounds like any other mainstream media leftist hack in excessive praise of the Obama transition and appointments so far.

Where exactly is the conservative in this so called conservative columnist?

The Obama appointments from my (hopefully conservative) perspective have been awful. They have been extremely liberal. They have been Washington insiders (Change??). They have been Clinton people (Change?). The fact that he can applaud these says to me he is gone forever.

Unfortunately he will continue to call himself a conservative columnist/commentator and this will encourage the media and those on the left to ask all of the “true conservatives” to be more like him.

More like him? Are you kidding me? If the conservatives were more like him we would have no points of difference at all from the center left.

Good riddance David.

I remember when Bill Safire quit the NYT and I advised David Brooks to do likewise. He’s a PBS Conservative now.

Brooks occasionally has something interesting to say about Alexander Hamilton but apart from that he is now as much a part of Manhattan as Ed Koch. His boundaries end at the Hudson.

David Brooks knows that if he really stood up for conservative principles, he wouldn’t get invited to any cocktail parties in Manhattan…or for that matter, any cocaine parties in Hollywood. So, he parrots the Left’s line as their house token conservative.
