Powerful New Newt Spot

Take a look at the new 2 min spot…..thoughts…..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAkKl3Y8xmQ&sns=em

Seems pretty powerful on what Newt says about the Obama/Romney differences being pretty incremental and far from stark.

Should the campaign run this widely?

between Romney and Obama are concerned, but I’d rather see something more along the lines of the following coming out of Newt…

Here’s the RNC ad about the Obama economy

Here’s a Joe Biden quote pinning the current economy on himself and Obama….

“Vice President Joe Biden said in a live interview with Miami public radio station WLRN Thursday that the Obama administration – not the Bush administration – now has ownership of the struggling U.S. economy.

    [snip]

Biden said it is “totally legitimate” for the 2012 presidential election to be “a referendum on Obama and Biden and the nature and state of the economy.” He said Americans will need to make a choice between what the Obama administration is offering to address the problem and what is being offered by the eventual Republican nominee”

Here’s the impact the Obama economy has had on one of nation’s largest cities, New York City….

“The city’s welfare agency is on a hiring spree, adding more than 200 workers to handle a spike in the number of poor flocking to its centers for benefits.

    [snip]

The struggling economy has led to the growing demand for benefits. About 1.8 million city residents now receive food stamps, up more than 700,000 from four years ago, records show”

Then have Newt, saying that Joe Biden is right…this IS Obama’s economy, Republicans DO need to tell the America people what they have to offer, and then follow it up with an overview of his plan to get this nation back on track…paint a vision of where we go from here….something better than the socialism Obama and his admin have provided for Americans….

2 minutes is about half a commercial break, how could he afford to run this enough for people to see it.

When he stayed on message about his policies (SC) he did well. When he spent all his money wasting everyone’s time with negative anti-Romney ads (FL) he lost.
He has the best policies, but how is anyone going to know if he doesn’t get his message out?

  • bluerose75

Soros is the most radical wack job on the left next to Huffington!! To listen to him mumble how Obama and Romney are virtually the same should speak volumes!! But too many people on the GOP side are not listening! Soros knows, as do many of the Wall Street Execs that Romney is interchangeable with Obama. And how seductive it is!! The same Redstaters who claim to dislike the MSM, Obama and other liberal policies seem to have no problem burying their heads in the sand for a GOP phony!

Newt should tie Obama, Soros and Mitt and what a great trio of left leaning liberal misfits they make.

Newt does need to talk about what he stands for and he needs to stick to American Exceptionalism!!

  • romansdaughter

He lost FL for anti-Romney ads and yet Mitt won FL with anti Newt ads. In fact Mittens went out of his way to bombard the media with anti Newt ads. He spent 5 million just on that. I don’t really think it was the anti Mitt ads, as much as Newt got silly and started talking about moon colonies etc. But you are right he needs to stay on his message. I am not really a Newt fan but that is what he needs to do and Romney just did a big gaffe with his not caring for the poor sound bite. I thought Newt answered back to that real good.

  • dimondintherough

I agree Newt needs to stay on message and positive, would really prefer if this was the super pacs ad – it’s not. I do think the ad and it’s message are useful, but Newt is best when sharing HIS positive and BOLD ideas.

I agree this is a great ad.

Newt Gingrich a Conservative? I don?t think so!

In the 1990?s Newt Gingrich endorsed and wrote the Forward for a book by Alvin and Heidi Toffler entitled ?Creating a New Civilization.? The book called for our governing system to ?die and be replaced.?

Newt thinks our Constitution is Obsolete! That sounds like Comrade Obozo who also called for the ?fundamental transformation of America.?

No thank you! There are many, many video?s on YouTube of Newt Gingrich bloviating about being a ?Progressive and a ?Rockefeller Republican? as well as a ?Wilsonian Progressive.? Anyone thinking
about supporting this character should read up on his background and what he truly believes. It is frightening.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06XLIPtCXy8

This is just one link?.There are dozens.

Please, PLEASE do your research on this guy. I did and I would vote for Harry Reid over Newt Gingrich! At least Reid is not smart enough to be dangerous. Newt is.

  • WillWong

But his conservative record for the lat 30 years is second only to Reagan!

I will take the bad with the good over someone who is mediocre at best!

  • Finrod

If not, then go take a long walk off a broken weblink.

  • kegan05

Newt has not been conservative for 30 years! In 1990 he was touting Alvin Tofflers “new civilization” by tearing down our governing system and replacing it with a GLOBALIST form of government.

He was saying that our Constitution is obsolete.

He was for Gun Control Legislation

    He was for Federal Mandates.

Newt believes in a strong Central Government from where all the seats of power are located. He is a BIG Government Progressive.

If you take his word for anything, you are very misguided.

  • dimondintherough

    Kegan

You are listening to too much glen beck. If you look at almost any major conservative issue and Newt’s actual voting record on said issue, you will not find many that are more conservative. He believed in a mandate at a time when most conservatives did as well…but does not any more. He has praised progressives as politicians and people but not their policies.

His 2010 book, to save America, is a total and complete repudiation of the big government, euoropean socialist, Obama agenda and calls for smaller government and is conservative at every turn.

So he cares about the planet and made a bad judgement to sit on a couch with Nancy P, which he now considers a huge mistake. Give the guy a break and please consider for yourself his RECORD on pro life, on welfare reform, on cutting taxes, on guns, on taxes and he is miles and miles apart from BHO.

His debate statement about the poor finding a job, a better job and owning the job…..was a great one sentence example for the world of how conservatives feel about the poor.

    Kegan05:

You have based your view on a whole lot of he said…and you have not even included some of his more recent statement which are quite different. More importantly, you have chosen to include any actual things he did while speaker. Ever heard of the statement….watch what a man do and not what he says?

  • greyeagle

I agree, this should be run widely.

I was contemplating getting behind Newt when my favorite candidate dropped out (Rick Perry) so I started doing some research on Newt to try and disprove the “lobbyist” allegations. I came across the following video on YouTube that is a compilation of many Newt Video’s wherein he states in no uncertain terms that he is a “Wilsonian Progressive” and that he admires Woodrow Wilson and FDR very much. In fact he was asked who his favorite President is and he quickly answered “Franklin Delano Roosevelt.” Okay, I didn’t like that too much but continued to watch the video.

There was Newt declaring that our Constitution is “obsolete” and he agreed with Alvin Toffler that it should “die and be replaced.” He wrote the Forward for Toffler’s book, “Creating a New Civilization.” Toffler is a Globalist and Newt also agrees with this form of government.

The video is one hour and 3 minutes long and Newt does not refer to Ronald Reagan except to diss him for his foreign policy. That makes me wonder why he running across the country today, waving the Constitution and riding the coattails of Ronald Reagan? Newt is a very conflicted, narcissistic, smart, and manipulative man. I no longer trust him as far as I could throw him. Maybe you an watch this video then vote for him, but I cannot.

I am willing to give Newt a break but the deeper I dig the more worms I find. He was a very strong advocate for a tough Gun Control bill but got knocked down on it. He has sided too much with the Progressives and the more liberal side of the aisle, IMO. He has admitted to being a Globalist. Newt is very scattered and erratic and doesn’t seem to have a core focus on one ideology. Frankly, he scares me. I don’t think he is mentally stable enough to be President and lead this country.

Soros spent 24 mill dollars to elect Obama. Said he would be willing to spend all his fortune if he had to. He has made megabucks off of Obama’s Brazillian oil deal, and stands to make more if Obama’s policies hurt America more (because of his European bond holdings).

So how does he make sure Obama stays in? If you were George Soros everyone knows you <3 Obama, so saying that causes nothing to happen. However, since you know that you are the bogeyman to conservatives if you say that you think Romney is the same as Obama you know that you could possibly make a difference in the R. primary. He didn't get as rich as he is being stupid, he uses rumor campaigns to crash economies and make money on his shorts. I can't believe anyone would just take him straight at his word.

  • kegan05

He wants them to think that Dems want Romney to win because “he is just like Obama.” This is utter nonsense. They are terrified of Romney because he has the business background, the experience at being a Governor, the expertise, character and integrity that Comrade Obozo does not possess. He also looks like a natural born LEADER and President. He is articulate and well versed on every issue of the day.
He will win the nomination and he will also beat the snot out of Comrade Obozo in November!

  • WillWong

Diclaimer….I did not listen to the video. However, there are many warning signs that you need to be aware of selective editing which leaves out the context. One very good example was Newt dissing on Reagan’s foreign policy for Reagan’s outreach to Gorbachev. Please note that many conservatives in those days including Newt had similar mindsets. That incident should set out Reagan’s uniqueness as a visionary rather than a slap at Newt and his contemporaries. I am sure the video you cited did not include any reference to the fights Newt and his contemporaries waged on the House floor on behalf of Reagan’s agenda!

  • demsaresatanic

is a Romneycare Rino there isn’t much you can do but bash the opposition, is there? Thats sooo Romney.
