MEMBER DIARY

Dear 52

We told you so.

Hugs and Kisses,
48

[I would have ended this here, because brevity is the soul..... well, you get it -- but lately it's not safe to be a short diary around here ;o). So, I'll expound. Please take the jump with me.....]

So, 52, just to recap. While you were spending these last months swooning over his oratory wonder, his alleged post-racial heal-the-national-scars [eep] talk, his promises to lower taxes [sniggle] for 95% [BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA] of the people [AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA], his Hope-&-Change , which means “Hope he leaves me a little change after all the upcoming tax hikes” ::struggling to regain composure::, his ending the culture of corruption ::oh no, composure slipping:: in Washington [BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA], ::deep gasp::, [AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA], and in general his ability to leap tall buildings with a single bound, stop trains, and all that….. [whew] ………….OK, I’m better now…..

Well, you stupid idiots, we were telling you otherwise for months. Now it seems your blissful post-election cigarette has been rudely interrupted, and you’ve found that your bonny lass was actually a hooker, and not a very pretty one, once the light got turned on. And she took your wallet on the way out the door.

We told you:

  • That the One had some shady, off-color, sleezy relations back in Chicago. I know for a fact that we used the term ‘Chicago Machine’. Do the names Tony Rezco, Mayor Daly, ACORN, and William Ayers sound familiar? They should, because WE have been talking about them for months. Now you can add to the list the names Blago, Harris, and Jesse Jackson Jr.
  • That the post-racial talk was just smoke, that he was just a second-rate race-baiter, no better than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. And we now find that your spiritual mentor Reverend Wright not only calls our nation the ‘US of KKK A’, but that he believes that America bombed Hiroshima on December 7. Whether that was 1941 or 1945, I’m not clear on. Stupid AND America-hating. Speaking of chickens coming home to roost….
  • That the ‘culture of corruption’ was a term that fit Democrats a WHOLE lot more than it does Republicans. Add Blago, his CoS John Harris, Obama’s soon-to-be-ex CoS Rahm Emanuel, and soon-to-be-ex Congressman William Jefferson to the list. While we are at it, let’s add Eric “Pardon Inc, Never Gonna Be SecState” Holder. We are impressed, by the way, with the very chutzpah of that nomination.
  • That ‘the one’ had had no executive, buck-stops-here experience, and in fact had never shown any inclination to take charge of anything. What’s Boy Wonder had to say about the UAW bailout bill? What? I can’t hear you…… We already know what he’s had to say about the Blago affair. To paraphrase: “That guy is not the Blago I knew.” Yep, that’s one take-charge CEO you got there, 52.
  • That he was actually NOT going to pull the troops precipitously from Iraq. The fact that this surprises you speaks volumes about your IQ as a group.
  • That this guy was an ‘uh’ machine. Kind of annoying now, isn’t it?

So anyway, 52, enjoy your STD. You earned it.

ps: h/t to Neil Stevens, whose original Dear 52 inspired this one.

    This is an AWESOME POST!

Aaron Gardner will probably dish on it because I didn’t include the words Edmund and Burke in it though…. ;o)

            actually you did not reco.

I have found that it takes me hitting the Reco button at least 3 times in a row before it actually does the job.

          • Aaron Gardner

The site just chose not to reflect it…;^)

In fact I hit that dang button about 8 times now and still…no show…odd.

And thanks Janis for sticking up for me and not question my integrity like EPU…he can be so hurtful….lol….;^)

          • E Pluribus Unum

yeah, I know, ABG, I’ve been a poor sport with you lately. I mean no harm, only a little sniping among friends. You are the greatest, my friend!

          • Mike gamecock DeVine

and while brevity may be a soul of wit in the right hands, the inspiration for your title was not a good example and this rooster that is one of your greatest fans found even your no so brief musing too short to include any reason why the 52 should be distraught.

Given the date and given the change that will be made manifest in 38 days.

          • E Pluribus Unum

The 58 is coming, it is inevitable, and it will bring with it more destruction on our way of life (freedom) than the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. You are absolutely right, and I don’t minimize our impending doom.

But I do observe with a great deal of relish, the cries of ‘foul’, and ‘we didn’t know’ from the rank and file suckers and buffoons that make up the 58, as various FOO (Friends of Obama) get frog-marched out of various government buildings. I plan to have fun tormenting the followers of the One Cult in the meantime.

Further though, it is my opinion, and I am not alone, that these implosions will lead to a damaged and less effective Obama administration, and will serve to begin the shift of American opinion regarding exactly who is the ‘party of the culture of corruption’, while the GOP is purging the wusses and training like the Spartan 300 for the next round.

It is not fully satisfying, but that is my rationale, my brother. The respect and admiration is entirely mutual, by the way, in case you wondered.

          • Mike gamecock DeVine

William Henry Harrison, but I worry that on balance this is not good for the GOP or America. We have one president at a time, and esp on foreign policy, it is crucial that he not be perceived as weak.

            That said, two things:

Your comment to me would have been better included in the column. (Brevity to a point my friend)

            and 2

            game

The underestimation of one’s opponent is the surest way to insure a good butt whipp’n.

The assumption that Obama is going to fall on his face of his own accord ignores the investment the MSM, Liberal elites, academia and prevayors of a coming racial spoil system have made in getting “The One” where he is today. Those that supported and elected Obama will not abandon him, there’s no where else in the wings for them to turn to and Hillary just got taken off the board.

Turning to the Republican side of the equation, the Republican brand is about as welcome as a new Toyota is at a UAW Union Hall meeting when it comes to the general public’s point of view, and in terms of remaking the brand to appeal to John Q., that process has not even begun yet.

We have a Republican President selling out to the Big 3 in Detroit, few new ideas from the Conservative side of the ditch and a Republican communications machine that has been left to rot by the President.

At best, it’s going to be a long two years to the Congressional elections, and even longer two years to the next Presidential race with no clear leader that unites the party and appeals to the general public.

As I said, underestimating “The One” is a real bad thing to do.

I do think Obama could be greatly damaged by this Chicago way scandal coupled with his pathetic news conference skills that could alienate the press.

But, I am interested in your opinion of my suggested strategy against obama-dem inevitability:

is an able and ambitious man. However, he has had to sell 200% of himself to get elected and his own left wing will cripple him. Losing the House and Senate in 2010 might be his best hope of a two term Presidency.

…which I noticed today. If you post a comment, then RedState redirects you, not to the story, but to your comment. So, for example, instead of your address bar saying “http://www.redstate.com/e_pluribus_unum/2008/12/12/dear-52/”, it says “http://www.redstate.com/e_pluribus_unum/2008/12/12/dear-52/#comment-1165″. If you try to recommend, it just shoots you back to the comment.

To recommend, click on the title of the post, or remove the #comment-number anchor from your address bar.

Thanks for your concern, it has been noted. And we look forward to your loyal opposition.

Now, just to be clear: from out perspective, even on his worst day, Obama is better than Bush. and 80-90% of Democrats agree. Carry on.

    Sincerely,

    52

    • E Pluribus Unum

That sounded to you like concern? More self-delusion. The short version of my note is:

      ROTFLMAO

Now just to be clear: We are well aware of your perspective. Which would be hating America, hating free markets, hating freedom of speech, denying American exceptionalism, and leaving America wide open to terrorists. And from that perspective, you are absolutely right: even on his worst day, Obama is better than Bush. and 80-90% of Democrats agree.

So, by all means, carry on.

      Love,

And you were afraid McCain would bring four more years of the same thing…

    • Darin_H

I mean, the only scandal you guys can point to is “Plame.” Even that’s been shown to be bogus (Dick Armitage was the “leaker”).

Obama’s already in more trouble prior to his inauguration. I mean, his Chief of Staff is going to be thrown under the bus before even working an actual day on the job.

      PS. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • bs

      we give a damn.

    • Next93

I don’t think you have any concept of just how bad your messiah’s ‘worst day’ is going to be. You don’t get to vote ‘present’ in the White House.

  • peg_c

    Outstanding.

  • redneck_hippie

a foretaste of what’s to come with Obama In Charge. Although our side saw this coming for many, many months, the Left is still in denial.

So when the cultists start going through their withdrawal pains it’s going to be pretty ugly. We should be humane and not rub their noses in it.

    Naaaaaaah.

It was all so predictable. There was nothing to the candidacy except hopes for what might happen. Well, things are starting to happen presently.

A coworker made a revealing statement this week: “We were all up so high with Obama, and now this happens.”

Pin hopes on a messianic individual and there is no doubt that you will be disappointed, but most of those who chose The One probably didn’t put much stock in the New Testament, I’m figuring.

    • http://beaglescout.wordpress.com LJ “Beaglescout” Miller

“we were all high on Obama” hehe

      • redneck_hippie

person’s next statement. Upon being told that Fitzgerald really really wants to take down Daley, my coworker says, Oh, I’ve always really liked Daley.

And we wonder how Obama got elected.

who needs to go home and watch the comedy channel?

          • redneck_hippie

the latest democrat political scandal is a comedy channel. Did you see Mark Kilmer’s story on Rostenkowski’s article?

I’m already starting a hernia and the clowns are not even in DC yet.

    52 grows to 58

    • bs

“52″ refers to the percentage the popular vote who voted for the Dems. It’s not the number of Dem senators.

this is the page that raised the original ruckus about “the 52″ and “the 48″.

      • Mike gamecock DeVine

        to despair as yet and

that the original 52 was too brief.

Please remember that The Constitution and The Bill Of Rights are reality. Those documents afford you the right to speak your mind and act as you do.

Coincidentally, those documents afford us the same rights.

I’ll translate what I just wrote…… Leave those documents alone. Not one word, letter, punctuation mark or anything else is to be touched by you.

48 can become 96 real quick when life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is at stake.

    Cheers !

When you were a kid and sitting on Santa’s lap and wishing for all the cool stuff you wanted? Obama voters a like kids that gave Santa O a wish list. Looks like they will be getting lumps of coal. Now they will have to go buy CO2 credits if they want to burn it to stay warm.

  • Jaded

WE were always going to be aggravating anklebiters to you BUT even WE could not have imagined that The Messiah would be handing it to us on a silver platter.

WE thank him for that because we would never want it to be said that we were not gracious in our disrespect for The One!

    • rbdwiggins

That’s about how long it will take the slumbering majority of the American electorate to realize that “The One” lacked the experience or the courage to stop the 111th Congress from engineering an economic depression of global proportion (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae didn’t quite get the job done).

Suddenly, “52″ becomes a minority, and lame-duck is the new narrative.

      • olsmithie

        History repeats.

Before, when the world had a “Depression”, the US had a “Great Depression,” due to FDR meddling with the economy.

The “one”, I am sure will be no less talented at botching up the economy than FDR was.

        Regards

A very sweet read, though I am certain we will be seeing the MSM, Liberal Left, et al CYAing for the great and powerful O. I’m just not sure what they’ll be able to find that’s large enough to cover such a large backside…

I was actually referring to my comment, not McCain…I would never claim McCain as mine…even if I voted for him out of necessity

          • Next93

The only consolation I have as part of the 48 is that, had we won, the country would have gone to hell anyway, just not quite as fast.

As it worked out, the One’s incompetence may actually prove to be a blessing; McCaine would actually have been able to get his stupid policies (amnesty, cap-and-trade) implemented. I suspect that Big O and the D’s are going to be so paralyzed by infighting and showboating that, faced with a solid front of filibustering congressional R’s (acting more out of annoyance than actual conservative values), they’ll fail to get any of thier major legislation passed.

      • birdmojo

Jerry Brown, the Attorney General of the State of California (I think he swore an oath to uphold both the state and federal constitutions). charged with defending the interests of the State has announced that he will argue to the State Supreme Court that they should countermand the legitimate vote and will of the people, (done in accordance with the law of the State of California) to grant special rights to a narrow contituency based on a choice in behaivior.

It might be just me, but it seems that he…in his quest to run for Governor and seeing Obama throw the Gay constituency under the bus in his quest for re-election to President, is jumping in to assume the role of Gay Panderer In Chief. The Balkanization of the country will continue unabaited.

I also doubt he is going to keep them there. I think the “permanent bases” idea is unworkable, given Iraqi history.

The thing that will alienate the left isn’t that the large conventional forces will stay there (they won’t): its that State, and USAID and the Special Operations Community will have a large presence there for years to come and will need to stay there for years to come.
